HealthTronics trains electronic equipment to zap kidney stones and blast cancer tumors. The company contracts with medical facilities to provide urology treatment services, including equipment, scheduling, training, and clinical technicians. It makes, sells, and services lasers and lithotripters, which use shock waves to break up kidney and gall-bladder stones. HealthTronics also offers urological pathology testing and cryosurgical (freezing of tissue) treatments for enlarged prostate and prostate cancer. In addition, HealthTronics offers related consumable supplies and maintenance services. Drug and device maker Endo International sold HealthTronics to investment firm Altaris Capital in early 2014.
