Integrated oil giant Rosneft conducts oil and gas exploration and production activities in Siberia, the North Caucasus, the Black, Caspian, and Azov Seas, and in other regions. It also has exploration projects in Algeria, Kazakhstan, and Turkmenistan. It has proved reserves of 33 billion barrels of oil equivalent, and seven refineries (4.9 million barrels of oil equivalent a day). Rosneft operates shipping and pipeline companies, and a national network of 2,630 gasoline stations. In 2016 Rosneft bought the Russian government's 50.1% stake in refiner Bashneft for $5.2 billion. That year Russia agreed to sell 19.5% of Rosneft to Glencore and Qatar's sovereign wealth fund for $11 billion.
