LDK Solar Co., Ltd. is a vertically integrated manufacturer of Photovoltaic (PV) products. The Company�s products include Polysilicon, Solar Wafers, Solar Cells, Solar Modules and Solar Farm Projects. It operates in two segments: Polysilicon and Other PV products. Polysilicon segment involves the production and sales of polysilicon. Other PV products segment involves the manufacture and sales of monocrystalline and multicrystalline solar wafers and PV modules and processing services, manufacture and sales of PV cells and the development of power plant projects. As of March 31, 2012, its two polysilicon plants, Mahong Plant and Xiacun Plant, located near its wafer production facilities. It produces and sells multicrystalline and monocrystalline solar wafers globally to manufacturers of solar cells and solar modules. In June 2012, Solar Power Inc. acquired 100% interest in Italy-based Solar Green Technologies from LDK Solar Europe Holdings S.A., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company.
