Sounds to me like someone going under for the third time screaming for
a life saver. Hey now we know what it was like to be on the Titanic. A
financial Titanic, that is. LOL

WOW!!

"The numbers are too daunting," said a senior executive at a large
private-equity firm. Given AIG's huge balance sheet, "we just don't
have enough capital to fill the hole."

Get your puts while you can. I bought 100 OCT 10 puts for $ made a
killing while my coal company crashed. I made $80,000 in 2 days only
risking $10,000. Forget margin buy options. Another suggestion is buy
option on any commodity or commodity stock because once the fed cuts
rates the dollar will fall and commodities will fly up. Hope this helps

brooks.ja,

Any commodities or commodity stocks that you think someone should
consider more than others. I just finished watching MSNBC’s Asia
trading and gold and the Swiss Franc already shot up.

AIG falls quite a lot (currently + 30 % in europe), it seems they do
not believe in their capacity to raise the capital they say they need
(40 k millions.). If AIG falls (it may not, but just if that were the
case), which may be the consequences? Any ideas or coments?

Update: From the NY Times:
The American International Group is seeking a $40 billion bridge loan
from the Federal Reserve, as it faces a potential downgrade from
credit ratings agencies that could spell its doom, a person briefed on
the matter said Sunday night.

"Could spell its doom........" Hey, itsn't that what I was saying?

Subject: Re: Rush Is On to Prevent A.I.G. From Failing
So I bought PUT options yesterday, AILVZ.  The stock is down 41%
today, but the PUT options have gone down in value???  I'm very new to
options, but I thought that the PUT options go up in value when the
stock price drops.  Can someone explain to me what's going on here.
Thanks.
