Subject: Does anyone else see building upward momentum...?
Overall numbers from TDAmeritrade. (This is my opinion, take it with a
grain of salt)

Nov 21 Expiry

$1.00 Strike
Calls 12,240
Puts 6,557

$1.50 Strike
Calls 20,126
Puts 13,369

Seems like FNM is gaining strength and would range between $1.00 and
$1.50 in the upcoming few weeks.
This may explain why it didn't drop like a rock after the recent bad
news.
December's expiry looks even better with higher number of calls in the
$2.00 range.

Anyone else have comments or opinions?

My opinion, before the bell, was that this would drop like a rock as
soon as normal trading hours opened.  I was wrong there...  (Sold 2k @
1.00 in hopes of buying back in @ around 0.80.)

Could you give a link where you find the December calls in $2.00 range
as you mention?

I was very concerned as well when the market opened, but it held up
surprisingly well.
My guess is the big guys dropped the price down a few cents premarket
to get the automatic triggers to activate in order to scoop up a few
cents.
I am unable to post a link because the info was collected within my
personal trading platform.
If you have Scottrade,TDAmeritrade, Etrade, it would be visible under
"Option Chains".
I know it bites when someone posts and can't back it up with a link.

At any rate, here is what it shows for December 19th Options
Expiry....please find a way to double check it because I dont want to
be responsible for anyone's losses. These are just my opinions and
little bits of data that may help spur positive discussion to help out
the whole community. (At least those who don't like unfounded bashers
of FNM)

Dec 21 Expiry

$1.00 Strike
Calls 16,321
Puts 84,826

$1.50 Strike
Calls 9,765
Puts 6,639

$2.00 Strike
Calls 21,099
Puts 4,247

It looks to me like the stock will rise a little around Nov.19th
expiry, then drop back down before Dec Expiry due to the 84,826 puts
at $1.00 Strike.

Again, just a broad brush opinion.

One more thing...It's nice the see the increasing amount of Calls in
the $2.00 Strike in the Dec numbers.
Although it may not get there, seems like these is a little buzz
building up.

The numbers seem to point that way, but you never really know. Ive
just accepted the fact that large block shareholders run this stock.
Might as well ride along with them.

Hopefully we will get to grasp a few opportunities between now and
Feb. Still wondering what the government is going to do with FNM and
FRE then.

Fingers crossed.

The Government will back them if anything happens, I was hope to see
it inthe 1.20's by now but there is always next week. all the shorts
want it to go under $1 so they could buy.

I completely agree that the government will back them, but not sure if
they will back the common shareholder. Hopefully they won't wipe out
common shares  or pull a reverse split.

FRE earnings are next.  What impact on FNM do u think will happen if
FRE also posts negative earnings and requests more bailout money?
Last quarter they didnt need any bailout $$.

And your reason is?
Not trying to be negative here, I'm just being cautious. I think alot
of us almost got burned hard by the fnm earnings report

Im not really in tune with FRE like I am with FNM.
It seems good news from FRE would boost FNM in my opinion.
Almost as if the market is just waiting for a positive catalyst to
boost pps, and downplay the negative hits we've been taking until this
happens.
Like I've mentioned in earlier, the large stakeholders appear to steer
this ship between the $1.00 and $1.50 price range for the time being.

Sorry I cant help more on FRE, just not as familiar with it.

It's all about accounting only
Most of FNM losses were driven by reserves made, so it's only paper
losses
FRE didn't make that much reserves last quarter (in some cases they
don't have to in some parts due to different capital structure, in
some cases just being more risky), that's why their report was better
IMPO FNM posted these losses (and did it now, not later in Nov as it
was annonced before) to push gov to approve the tax credit deal with
GS, "either u approve it or give me extra money, I need 15 bil more,
you see". I think now gov has no choice but to approve it..

Btw guys I never traded options, but FNM looks like perfect
opportunity to trade on volatility for me. To open both call and putt
options on the same strike and benefit from high volatility. Does
anybody do this? Any idea of option premiums on these stocks?
thanks
