Think Tank & All~

Here she be ~ the day we have been waiting for.

And it would seem that the elements are aligned.

The environment seems to be captured by the AP headline "World markets
gain as Dubai contagion fears abate"!!!!

Oh, yes....

Overnight the major Asian markets moved strongly UP, with the Nikkei
closing UP 2.43%, Hong Kong UP 1.43% and Shanghai UP 1.25% (on top of
yesterday's UP 3.5% or so.

Europe, at this hour is following in the same track with Germany's DAX
UP 1.94%, Paris UP 1.86% and London UP 1.58%.

Oil is UP $.88 (1.14%) to $78.16.

US futures are also on the same track at this hour with the DJIA
futures UP 72 pts and the S&P UP 8.70%.

For those of you that find the Pivot Points numbers helpful, here they
are for F for today:

+++++++

  Standard
R3 9.25
R2 9.09
R1 8.99
PP 8.83
S1 8.73
S2 8.57
S3 8.47
Observation: BULLISH with a closing price between pivot point and R1.
+++++++

Looming in the news ~ ISM manufacturing data, pending home sales and
construction spending are all reported at 10 a.m.  IF they are all
positive it could make the day VERY interesting for us.

Today, of course, is the day when the car makers report out their
Novemeber sales data.  In the case of F, the conference call
(available on the web) is scheduled for noon eastern, although the
data will hit the street before that time.

At 6:57 eastern, just before the directed trade market opens, the
spead on F is $8.85 - $8.93.

No trades in the first two minutes of the directed trade markets.  The
spread is now $8.86 - $8.93.

So, we are left at this hour with the same questions as always, and we
hope that you will share your thoughts regarding them.  Specifically,
at what price will F open trading in the regular markets?  How low
will she dip?  How high will she SOAR?  And, of course, where will she
close the regular trading day?

Please post your perspective!

Quick Update~

Did not have to wait long for the first trades today.  Two trades at
$8.04 eastern.  Both moved at $8.93.  The third followed at $8.95.

Trading range now showing as $8.90 - $8.94.

Not a bad start at all.

Think we will get to have a GAP UP opening?

Good Morning Wijram

If the Chicago purchasing managers report is any clue to what ISM will
be it could be a nice backdrop for Ford's release at noon.

Interesting.

Guess we might just have that GAP UP.

With three minutes left to go before the opening of the extended
markets, F just traded at $8.98, up a dime.

So we might open the extended market with GAP UP.

In fact, we might be passing R1 before the end of the directed trade
market.

Amazing, and none-the-less because it was expected.

Broke R1 and the $9.00 mark at 8:59 eastern.

Dropped to $8.95 at the opening of the extended market.

Back to $9.00 within a minute.

DRIVE, F, DRIVE!!!!

Disappointed that no one contributed their thoughts of where F was
heading today.

So with much tupor, induced I am afraid by reading too much of edin's
works, here are my glimpses of someone's reality:

Open of regular market:   $9.01
Bottom of Dip:   $8.91
HIGH:  Above R3 ($9.25)
Close:  Above R3 ($9.25)

Your thoughts?  Please.

I tend to think this will drop before the sales call.  Once numbers
are released will really break the $9 barrier as long as the outcome
is as expected.  People need to buy on the trust of the call not the
predictions.

Pending Home Sales Have Record Rise; Construction Flat
Published: Tuesday, 1 Dec 2009 | 10:10 AM ET Text Size By: CNBC.com

AP
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----

Pending sales of previously owned U.S. homes rose unexpectedly to
their highest level in 3-1/2 years in October, a survey showed on
Tuesday, suggesting the housing market recovery was gaining steam.

The National Association of Realtors said its Pending Home Sales
Index, based on contracts signed in October, rose 3.7 percent to
114.1, rising for a ninth straight month. This is the longest streak
of gains since the series started in 2001.

Analysts polled by Reuters had forecast pending home sales, which lead
existing home sales by one to two months, falling 0.8 percent in
October after rising to 110 in September.

The Pending Homes Sales Index surged a record 31.8 percent in October
from its year-ago period. The pending home sales index in the
Northeast jumped 19.9 percent to 100.2 in October. In the Midwest the
index rose 11.6 percent to 109.6. Pending home sales activity in the
South increased 5.4 percent to an index of 115.4, while contract
activity in the West fell 11.2 percent to 127.7.

In other housing news, U.S. construction spending was flat overall in
October at $910.8 billion despite the biggest surge in homebuilding in
more than a decade, the Commerce Department said on Tuesday in a
report that sharply revised the prior month's data.

Instead of rising by 0.8 percent as it said a month ago, the Commerce
Department now says September construction spending slumped by 1.6
percent , its sharpest monthly fall since a 2.8 percent decline last
January.

The department said the last month in which total construction
spending rose was in April, when it was up 0.5 percent. Economists
surveyed by Reuters had forecast October construction spending would
decline by 0.5 percent.

US Manufacturing Grew Less Than Expected in November
Published: Tuesday, 1 Dec 2009 | 10:10 AM ET Text Size By: Reuters

AP
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- -----

The U.S. manufacturing sector grew in November for the fourth straight
month but at a slower rate than expected, according to an industry
report released Tuesday.

The Institute for Supply Management said its index of national factory
activity decelerated to 53.6 in November from 55.7 in October.

The median forecast of 70 economists surveyed by Reuters was for a
reading of 55.0 in November.
