Subject: Comcast and GE deal
WSJ says Comcast and GE have reached a deal for NBC.  Any ideas how
this will affect GE's stock price?

One time cash gain so they can look like they're making the numbers
each quarter but in reality it's just accounting gymnastics.

Borod they will also be dumping a company that doesn't perform.....
always good so they can focus on core parts of business... plus that
cash infusion can help settle up GE finance and get them back on
track.  selling NBC is very good for GE.

No they're not dumping...they're just going from the majority
shareholder to minority.

I'm with borodorihachi actually.   Why else would you drop such a huge
and potentially profitable business for a one time gain?    Cookie Jar
accounting!!! :D :D

They would seriously have to use that money to buy better suited
businesses which rake in more profit.   They probably can and will.
It might even be a good thing, fewer people are using the
television.   Imagine in 10 years how hard it might be to sell NBC

Well actually I don't thing they're in a position right now to buy
anyone what with GECC's assets declining.  They need the cash to plug
that hole to keep from bleeding out.

GECC.
