Just because an ANALyst says they now think the
stock is an outperform don't mean chit. They are not inside the company and GE IMO has a long long slog ahead of them to get back to where they once were. I am not bashing this stock, as I have owned it since the March. Making money no matter what but, be cautious what goes up wtih this one seems to always come down just as quick. Forget about Openheimer, Bernstein gave it a serious upgrade to
outperform as well. On Nov 16th, GE will announce the details of their sale of NBC to Comcast. Bernstein downgraded Comcast and Upgraded GE. GE is industrials firm, it wore a financial suit, but now it's back to it's uniform: "energy", "Jet engines". Pay close attention to its departure from financials stocks today. BAC went down GE went up. This didnt happen in a LONG time, but that's my own analysis. Guys $16 next week, how far beyond that the market will dictate. If

Sol...this has been a great day. I made the mistake of going LONG GE
when it was at almost $17 and it was ugly! It'll take me a month to make up my losses. Beats the heck out of a money market fund though:) (BTW GE went down.........for an extended period of time on NO NEWS) Go figure, and yes, the game is rigged against us. I wonder who got the call about the upgrade on GE today? Wasn't me, sigh.... Watch out for a pullback Monday....short it but be very agile/

When are they going to increase the F'in dividend? I've been long on

John, that's where I choose to look at the big picture.
I think it's definitely one of key factors in my opinion, but GE is heart of Dow too, and is used as a tool at times, and it's affected by dollar at times. I think the support levels have been raised to 10,000 via the GE upgrade, and I don't think GE will go under $15 unless the is a correction facing financials/dow. Like "Profit" indicated GE was used as a jojo, but the timing was perfect because there was a correction to support levels of 9700, now the Dow is headed to new resistance, so it's a combination of where the Index is headed, and the analysis you're doing there. I think the only way to conquer is to have multi factorial analysis, and with GE it's not that hard, only few factors affect, assuming earnings come somewhat at expectations. I see 10,500 this year, and GE soon (month-two) comfortably trading at $17-$18, and new strong resistance at $15 ( the kind we saw at $14), but it's live, so if gov't does something crazy health care bill impact on corporations that we cant think of, and market decides to correct itself to Dow 9,000, GE will be used as a tool, but that's just my opinion. The stock is Bullish, VERY BULLISH. I see at least 30 cents tomorrow,
