Subject: Hummer H3 Truck with $25 Billion?
As you well know, in the midst of Congress passing the $700 Billion
Bailout, Congress approved the $25 Billion tax-payer bailout for the
big 3 auto makers.
Yet, with gas prices so high, and credit tightening up, why would GM
go to Congress and ask for $25 Billion...only to turn around and
introduce another Hummer truck???
Yes, that's right! Another Hummer truck to be sold in the worst
economy we have seen in decades, and GM has the audacity to beg for
$25 Billion...what kind of country is this?

I imagine it is because most of the costs are sunk already, and it
might be hard to entice buyers with a line that GM has clearly given
up on.

Hummer H3 Intro - Why - Someone should hit the GM CEO upside the head
with a baseball bat because once again his company has demonstrated
their complete and utter incompetence & stupidity.   If you still
believe in this stock you should probably be institutionalized!!

They didn't just build the truck yesterday and decide it was a good
idea to release it.  It's been in the build phases for the past year
and a half before GM met this crisis.  They started production on it a
while back.  Since they already have sunk money into the project, why
scrap it?  Try to recover some of the cost of the assets instead of
throw it out the window.  In 2006 and 2007, Gas was still under $3/
gallon and big SUVs were popular.  Yeah, they speculated wrong...but
they really don't have any other option but to release what is already
built regardless of the economy we are it

Believe it or not, people are still buying trucks. And the H3T was
developed off the Colorado/Canyon chassis just like the H3, so it's
not like they spent tons of money engineering it.

Besides, the loans are to help all companies and suppliers producing
vehicles or parts in the US develop vehicles with significant
increases in fuel economy. While that may include trucks, it does not
include this one. But God bless them if they can make a vehicle that
people need or want for whatever reason that gets better fuel economy.
Win, win.

It's a Colorado with the same sheetmetal as the H3. There was
absolutely zero engineering for this model.

Your posts annoy me.  They are not using money from the $25 billion to
finance the new H3 Truck.  That money was spent over the course of the
last several years.  New cars take several years to design and build,
H3 truck is no exception.

Volt isn't coming out for another 1.5 years, using your logic, they
haven't even started the drawings for that car yet and won't spend any
money on it until a few weeks before its release...

Willamina......it's time you stood up on your own two feet.  Stop
trying to solicit support for your feeble threads by trashing me.
That's weak man!  Focus on improving yourself and try to come up with
some original thought that just might contain something insightful!
Once again you are demonstrating a complete lack of originality -
something Detroit, GM and F are all guilty of.  You must work for the
little 2.

I welcome anyone to compare my posts against smoking and judge for
themselves. Simply click "view profile" for one of my posts and do the
same for "smoking". You'll find such gems from "smoking" as:

"Sell the whole goddamned thing to the communists!!!"

"Go to Vegas, get yourself some head and put the change under your
mattress! "

"You on crack? "

"I have no idea what all this punjabbeee curry lovin' shit means.
All
I knows is that if you can't come to America and speak/read & write
English, you should go back to your elephant lovin' land and your
work
as a sheep shaggin, opium smokin' rickshaw driver.  God Bless America
and don't forget it!!"

The above are all complete, unedited posts fmro "smoking". Original?
Maybe, in some sick way. Insightful? Yea right.

I think the "smoking" may refer to the crack he often includes in his
posts as an insult-reply to anyone that has a different opinion.

And as far as who I work for, his guess is so wrong you don't even
know.

As one can see first hand, Willamina has posted some of my best
threads.

Should you decide to judge, it is important to keep in mind that I'm
here to entertain, and be honest first and secondly to defend
America.  The way I see it, these threads have become so depressing
over the past year and the markets so unpredictable that the last
thing anyone wants is someone else trying to impart perceived wisdom
in a feeble attempt to figure out the markets.

My suggestion to Willamina is simply to lighten up, take a couple
Viagara and tag some tail!.  You're way too uptight!

Eric,

No worries here; I told you two weeks ago that I had been all cash for
a month. I haven't changed that, not even a day trade. For what it's
worth, I hope you did the same. Very though to watch when some of my
friends and family did not heed my warning.

The mother of all buying opportunities is out there somewhere. Finding
the right time to jump back in is the trick.

the old standby "it's the greatest country in the world" is such a
weak statement.   If this is the best you can do to support the feeble
thoughts of willjames, we're in worse shape than I thought!

Anyone with half a brain understands that it takes alot of time and
money to design / build a new vehicle. The new H3 was in development
well before anyone saw this crisis we're in now, and in order to avoid
a 100% loss on their investment: they're going to try to sell a few
(what a great idea... who would've thought?).

Their real mistake was holding onto Hummer (and Saab) for so long.
They should have unloaded both a few years ago...

Also, to everyone that thinks GM is going under, they have alot of
options. To begin with; they can sell off under performing brands like
Hummer, Saab, Saturn. They can also take higher risk loans like Ford
already has... which basically puts their plants / buildings right on
the line if they did default on a loan like that. Some of you probably
aren't even aware of the fact that GM sells more cars outside of the
North America than in it, and they have have some extremely strong
brands like: Opel, Holden, etc... Also, Buicks are very popular in
China.

You better hope and pray the credit crsis (thanks to predator lendors
and Americans that have no self control and / or aren't educated
enough to understand what an adjustable rate mortage is, or, don't
care because we're not tough enough on people that borrow and don't re-
pay...) doesn't take companies like GM, Ford, Caterpillar, etc...
because if that happened, we are well and truly screwed.
