This company is DONE. Completely. Even if they didn't have a totally
crap product line, the credit market in the future will never support
the 'new car every two years' mentality that has created this monster.

They lost $56bn last year so the $25bn bailout should see them through
a month or two. But I guarantee you, this company is dead.

@frimbleh...

I'm a bit surprised with what a clear message you predict GM's death.
I agree :)

They missed every innovative trend to reduce what i would call your
expenses at the station nor did they observe the market.
Sleeping bunch of old chairman's. Just look at GM's chief of product
development. This guy definitly belongs to a coffin instead of a
board
of a car company.

Btw. Uncle Sam's bailout oportunities will allready be given away,
when talks of the "car maker crisis" will re-reach FED, after their
massiv efforts to save Wall Street.

Too big to fail! If this fails and ford fails detroit is done!

They may see 25% unemployement rate and 45% down on property cost. It
will be a dead town!

LOL - Detroit was "done" a long time ago. Do you know anyone who would
actually choose to live there, if they had a choice? Maybe you
actually meant to say "the detroit-based auto industry is done" ?

Bailout or not, It's hard to see how GM is going to survive this
recession. Heck, even without a recession GM was looking pretty
unhealthy.

Detroit has been finished since the riots back in the 60s.  Every
mayor the city has had since then has been a crack addict, criminal or
mentally unstable with the exception of Dennis Archer and he saw the
writing on the wall and got out of dodge!
