Dell Inc. |
A lot of companies have flashy annual reports that are really
marketing materials. Dell tends to be one of these. As an investor,
what you really want is the annual report filed with the SEC. This
report is called the 10-K and must be filed once per year. This is
what all serious investors use. It cuts right to the nitty-gritty of
a business and its financials. You can get the annual report for
every American listed company at http://www.sec.gov/edgar/searchedgar/
companysearch.html.
In the box that says " or CIK or Ticker Symbol:" enter the ticker
symbol of the company you are looking for. For Dell that ticker is
DELL. On the page that it takes you too enter "10-K" in the box that
says "Form Type" then click on "Retrieve Selected Filings". That's
how you will find the annual reports going back many years.
