I'm looking to buy HD if it gets down to $24.28. I think it has
limited downside at that price. the upside may have to wait until
2010, but the dividend is good enough to sit on for awhile.

sales eventually pick up (overseas demand in particular due to a weak
dollar) but with inventories so lean companies need to hire back
workers to restock. will most likely be a very slow process. home
buyers overcome some of their fear and start buying a little.

If foreclosures were the only factor, I'd agree. Not to mention
unemployed / under-employed folks.

The thing is, a lot of people still have a house. A house with a
leaky sink, or a broken dish washer. So I think there is a core
income that is non cyclical.

I think once the $8k first-time-buyer incentive expires and the next
wave of foreclosures hit, HD will head south by quite a few points.

I'm actually surprised that HD is trading over $23.00 right now. But I
expect a drop as the winter season comes. I might pick up some then.
Past performance is no indicator of future performance, though. I just
usually see it drop around winter every year.
