Subject: illegal exports
ITT should be ashamed for the recent exportation of night vision
materials to China and Singapore. What a slap in the face to all Americans and to this great country. ITT is a bad citizen, that's why I sold all my stock in the company today! Shame on you. You must Sign in before you can post messages.

As I read the government published account of events I get that ITT
made some mistakes based on the actions of a few individuals, and I feel that the government is making an example of ITT to bring awareness to the defense community. I work in the defense industry and understand the restrictions on international business in regards to national security and the difficulty in sharing work across borders. It's tough to be competitive as foreign countries do not need to follow ITAR standards. There will be a day that this must be reformed as defense companies in the US will loose business in foreign markets. ITAR covers all technical data not just that which is deemed sensitive, classified, secret or higher. So in this ethical debate I have sympathy but do not condone the activities. With that said ITT is something like a $6 billion company. According My feeling is ITT is a strong, long term investment. Well diversified You must Sign in before you can post messages.
