They took down their margins this period...  that's not a beat with
any company trading publicly that I know.  Also, last Q1 for 2010 AAPL
guided way above estimates and surprised the street while going into
their best season.  Why would they go conservative into this holiday
season?

Was anyone ever seen AAPL report weak margins?  I'm going back years
and I'm not finding prior precedence.

Time to sell all your AAPL stock now before getting too late. Have to
sell before the mutual fund companies sell for profits

So what happens when you "tag" something as fear-mongering?
Do that poster become "it?"
Do you earn points somewhere?
Please explain.

Expect downgrade soon. One company has a target price of $500 the gap
is so huge. GOOG will outweigh AAPL next quarter.

You're not talking about a $20 stock reporting hear.  AAPL at $300 has
to blow away your notions.  37%-38% doesn't come close,  If you had
more experience you would recognize that.

Baseless fear mongering... Right, that's why the stock is down over 5%
in AH.

If AAPL could be down $20 on margins.. just think what would happen
(one morning) if we found out Steve Jobs was no longer with us!  After
reading some of the comments here.. I'll taking the money and run and
leave the pie-in-the-sky for the rest of you.

You're so funny!
Apple's margins exceded their guidance.
And why would their $300 stock price have anything to do with it? If
they had a 2:1 stock split would you feel better about their
impressive 36% margins? Their revenues are growing, which is what
causes the stock price to rise. The AH drop is profit taking pure and
simple. The stock rose 10% in the last 2 weeks (as it often does)
before earnings and dropped on selling before earnings (as it often
does.)
If you had more 'experience' you would recognize that.

OMG..... do we have another idiot talking about "What if Steve die."?
Apple usually runs up to earnings and does the typical sell on the
news.  Apple exceeded every metric.  Record revenue, record iPhone
sales, 70% increase in profits.

Seriously, it's like being invited to stay with the last five
Playmates at the Playboy mansion for the next year and being really
pissed because there are only five........

Rob has been carpet-bombing the boards with the same "miss on
expectations" without elaborating much beyond that. So from my
perspective he's fear-mongering and so I feel obliged to identify it
as such. If you or Rob could actually address the following I would
welcome a dialogue that explores how the stock might move up or down
in light of this. I might learn something and I would welcome it. But
if all I get is sell, sell, sell the world is at an end then there's
not much to discuss:

http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http://www.businessinsider.com/gene-...
Take away here is that Gene Munster lowered his "2010 iPad sales
estimate to 4.3 million units from 5.6 million" in April 2010.

http://www.google.com/url?sa=D&q=http://digitaldaily.allthingsd.com/2...&usg=AFQjCNF6RnLRB3UcwKudQY3z3KYVQNwdkQ
With the take away here being that "Sacconaghi is playing it safe
with
his sales estimates. He expects Apple (AAPL) to sell between 300,000
and 400,000 iPads over launch weekend–including pre-sales. But he
figures the device will sell five million in its first full year at
market and 6.8 million in fiscal year 2011."

Also, iSuplli just issued a report that they expect Apple to sell a
total of over 13 million iPads this year and 3X that number next year.

Also, on the conference call Apple seemed to be saying that they could
have sold more but they couldn't make enough of them.

It seems that Apple is swinging for the fences when it comes to trying
to dominate the tablet market. Margins will be lower because they are
trying to be extremely competitive on price. They're trying to squeeze
the competition on price and in what I would call a pincer move they
are also buying up as much of the flash-memory and displays as they
can effectively squeezing the profit out of the category for anyone
else. They have over 50 billion in cash on hand and can afford a
little cut into their profit if it means dominating what the tablet
market may become. They're making a bigger bet then they usually do
and in the long-run this should be good for Apple. In the short run
it's not much of a sacrifice.

Again any actual dialogue on the risks and rewards of this strategy
would be fun to engage in.

Regards.

The mutual fund companies just did sell for profit! I've seen this
before. Aplle will cycle between $300 (+- $3),  and $315 or so for a
while and  then it will go up as we near the holiday season.
