Here comes the latest Iphone killer, http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/08/05/12/
blackberry_bold_stands_as_3g_iphones_chief_rival.html.  With the OS
sophistication of Windows 3.1 I think the Iphone should slay it
quickly and painless.  But as a whole Blackberrys should continue
ahead of Apple until they introduce more models(maybe 2009).

who cares about the new blackberry, no touch screen no competition.
Lets see rimm try and make a pc. Or sell mp3s or make stand alone Mp3
players. Or rent you movies, shall i go on? Apple is much more diverse
in almost every way.

Apple generally takes the store down just a few hours before a keynote
or major announcement.  So the answer to your question is no, it
wouldn't be down "right now" (at the time you wrote your post).  If
they are going to launch a new iPhone on Tuesday, the store will
probably go down around 6 or 7am PDT.

Frankly, I don't think Apple would do a major update to the iPhone
without an "event" -- usually preceded by a cryptic invitation on a
week's notice.  iPhone is such a big deal for Apple, I have a hard
time imagining they'd just put a new banner up on their website and
let it go at that.

If the new iPhone weren't coming until WWDC, Apple would have to admit
screwing up big-time (out of stock for a month?), and they would have
done so by now (wouldn't achieve anything to wait).  The fact that
they haven't, tells me iPhone is coming soon -- my best guess is the
invitation will come tomorrow and the "event" will happen the
following Tuesday, with Jobs (of course) playing master of ceremonies.

But hey, I could be wrong.  Can't help wondering what's going to be
the "wow" at WWDC.  Too early for OS X 10.6 preview.  The iPhone SDK
is important, but old news.  iMac just got updated.  Too early for Mac
Pro refresh.  MB & MBP recently updated.  So maybe it will be the new
iPhone?  Or a surprise?  (drool)  Or maybe no "wow"?

No, probably not.  They'd probably take it down early in the morning,
say 5 or 6AM.

I seriously doubt the new iPhone will be available tomorrow.
Remember, they need to have it at the retail stores too, and we'd have
heard something about the stores getting new product, even if we don't
know what that product is.

why does everyone keep saying "TOMORROW."  is there some kind of
scheduled announcement or something?  why can't it be like next week?
i would love for there to be an announcement of a new iphone ... but i
think apple is just trying to build up hype for the 3G phone and avoid
buyer's remorse from people who purchased a 2.5G phone a day before
the new one came out.  nothing like artificial scarcity to spike
demand ... the iphone has become the diamond of mobiles.

as for competition with the blackberry bold ... what's the point of
that piece of s$%t even having 3G?  so it can load my e-mails faster?
i'm sorry ... but that eyesore is innavigable for the internet and
makes terrible use of screen space.  so what if i type 10% faster on
on the blackberry ... it's not worth sacrificing 50% of screenspace
particularly when most of my web browsing uses the mouse for clicking,
and when this device lacks multitouch.  blackberry also changes their
interface every 6 months ... there's no consistency.  this device may
be temporary competition in the business market because apple hasn't
targeted it yet; but for the consumer, it's like the ugly uncle nobody
likes to talk about.

What?

McD's cranks out hamburgers faster than Morton's does steak... but no
one really relishes a McD burger, they just consume them.  A Morton's
meal costs more, lasts longer, and is memorable.

Someone give me an award for the Bad Analogy of the Day.

So if 3G iPhone comes out tomorrow....
Then what the hell is Apple releasing with AT&T from June 15th - July
12th?
http://www.macrumors.com/2008/05/06/atandt-blocking-out-june-15-july-...

I can confirm that Memo is true as well. I have a buddy who works at
an AT&T and he received it.

Apple can always announce a new product that may not ship or be
available for some time. This is not uncommon for apple to do... This
thread is based on speculation and hope for an announcement or release
of a new iphone tomorrow... If it does not happen which is most likely
the case then I feel the stock will tank a bit simply because panic
will set in since there is no iphone inventory to sell currently...
Like BK with no whopper! Get in on the shorting early before the bell
just incase. LOL

Subject: Please SAVE your stimulus check.
Sorry to post this here, but I couldn't resist addressing those who
mentioned the stimulus check.

I wish people wouldn't spend that stimulus check they are getting. If
anyone's noticed lately, the FED and our Government have just about
the worst and most poorly thought out economic plans.

Everyone understands the Invisible Hand of the market, right?  Why
doesn't the FED? Why do they maintain their economic god-complex and
believe that these plans are helping an economy which does not need
help to run smoothly? If you love volatile markets, then stick with
the government's plans. *[for those who don't know what the Invisible
Hand is, please refer to the link at the bottom, it is a short and
insightful essay that everyone should read]

I apologize for ranting. But just like the Fed's GENIUS interest rate
cuts, this stimulus plan is another frail, short-term plan.

...And forgive this tasteless comparison: the FED is like a horny man.
He thinks with his dick and not his head and nine months later--he
realizes how dumbass thinking provisionally is. However, the FED does
one better, after they realize their screw up, they make another
horrible plan to try an patch up the last one. Its like a compulsive
liar; a person using one lie to cover up the last...sooner or later it
catches up to them. And it will catch up to them...and not just them,
our economy. It is not going to be pretty.

Anyone here, reading Google Finance,  should realize what the best
thing to do with this stimulus plan is: SAVE AND INVEST IT.
AAPL, RIMM, MSFT its your choice (of course, I wouldn't choose
Microsoft...). Businesses and consumers are what should be controlling
the economy, not the government. The market will return to equilibrium
through the laws of supply and demand, it does not need outside help.

Handle your stimulus checks and tax returns wisely; think with the
head above your neck, not below it.

Feel free to e-mail me with any questions or comments.

congrads..
u know about the invisible hand and might even have completed an
economy class recently..
so have the FED and the people at the treasury..

sure..hopefully some of that money goes into buying apple stock..but
if u own apple stock u would also  want everybody to buy apple
products,,like the new 3G iphone whenever it comes out..

I even might , even though I have prefered nokia until now..

at least the usa is doing something to try to correct the
economy..every economic school of thought
supports the idea that governments can guide the invisble hand in the
right direction..with some basic tools in times of trouble..

hopefully these checks will stimulate apple to go even higher..
