China Unicom is spending $14billion to upgrade their 3G network
because of an increased customer base from ALL phones, not just the
iphone.

It is a fact that iPhone users dominate the mobile web traffic? Where

and reserve cash was around a paltry 22 billion. Now with all that
iPhone growth rate and a cash reserve of about $34 billion, the share

In December 2007, analysts were saying Apple would hit $250 by mid to
late 2008. You saw what happened? An economy meltdown. I swear
there were idiots on TMO telling people to refinance their homes to

A couple things, a huge contributing factor on why AT&T's service
seems to be poor is because of the congestion, thanks to the iPhone.
Second, there's a reason why Apple had to offer AT&T, aka Cingular,

Apple will not be on all carriers until all carriers move to LTE and

think that Unicom went with the high price point to keep initial
demand low. With all of the bandwidth issues AT&T had/has, they may

- A lot of unicom stores don't meet requirements to sell the iphone.
They will by year-end
- Pricing will be tweaked as necessary
- Reported pricing includes upfront payment of pre-paid minutes,

china unicom's ceo chang xiaobing does a thorough job explaining

I think if unicom have half a strategic brain they'll know they're in
a land-grab in the smart phone space, and they have the best device as
their weapon. They'll revise the pricing and increase the volume, I'm
pretty sure of that. I don't think Apple had any say in that but I'm
sure they knew Unicom would tweak it after assessing demand.

I saw that too, not sure if it was an actual trade. I saw this before

drop). I almost panicked - no bad news, nothing that would cause it to

These could be trades from Mutual Funds, 401K's, etc. where prices for
shares sold to people are based on a set closing price, etc.
