It already did.

It was trading around 23 just before Valero anounced it was going to
post a lost and sell more stocks to increase cash supplies.

Might be a little spike but, not dropping 5 bucks like it did.
Escpecially with the rumor that gas prices are going to go up 30 cents
per gallon in the next few weeks.

As of 3/31/9, VLO book value is $30.45 coming off a quareter where EPS
was $0.60.

Even with the anticipated ($0.50) per share loss for Q2 and a 40
million share common stock offering at $18 per share (generating $720
million in equity), the new Book Value remains at $29.09.

Crude price was crazy in 2008 and VLO had a negative return last year.

Has anybody tried the company that Valero just acquired assets from?
VeraSun Resources trading under VSUQE. I bought a few thousand shares
and got almost a 100 percent return... It's a penny stock but it
worked, short term that is. Do you think that they will survive, they

They lost $1B on $34B in assets (2008). I can see that the stock might
be increasing in '09 simply because of oil speculation, but because of
financials? That's confusing to me.

This stock just showed curious strength. While oil dropped to hit
support and bounced and other refiners did the same VLO just sat there
and did not move. I'm a buyer here. Anyone read the article about
refiners starting to turn around at the Wall Street Journal this
