Subject: IBM takeover target?
When Oracle bought SUN, the game changed for these guys, I believe
that Novell is a prime takeover target from IBM.
My comments are not without merit, and this isn't the first time you
have read about this.

Novell is adrift, trying to find a place for their SUSE Linux to take
root.

Problem is they are infected with the Microsoft virus, (coupons),  and
it's gonna take IBM or another big player to offer the antidote.  Stay
tuned!

I'm skeptical of SUSE. We utilize 20+ NetWare servers and have since
decided to move to Windows for the majority of them. The products they
are offering are going in the wrong direction in terms of quality.

I am a huge Linux fan, but SLES 10 SP2 with OES2 running nss is a poor
product compared to what is out there. OES makes an otherwise
competitive product in SUSE heavy weight, and error prone. You can run
SUSE without OES, but then there is very little reason to with SUSE
over another Linux flavor.

While I am a big fan of Linux, but in larger organizations it makes
the most sense to go with (hak) Windows (retch). I think I have to go
lay down after typing that, I feel very ill.

Novell still has some top tier addon products, but it's only a matter
of time before other providers put the squeeze on them. I do not like
Novells future if they don't end up getting bought out by someone.

I think Novell's only hope is to facilitate a non hostile buyout.
Hopefully from a company that can and will do marketing.  I think they
do their customers and shareholders a great disservice by just
lingering on and flailing about aimlessly.  Although I don't think IBM
is necessarily the answer either.  The current direction seems only
for the self preservation of management.

Any idea why NOVL is spiking over 7% today to 4.59 (as of 11:42am)
