My guess is that there is speculation on the future of Novell. They
will either buy some sigificant property with the billion that they
have, or they are an inviting target.... I think they will spend
their money adding a nice property that will blend with what they are
doing with Linux.

Any thoughts out there about the future of Novell? I'm long NOVL with

I think Novell's only hope is to facilitate a non hostile buyout.
Hopefully from a company that can and will do marketing. I think they

I'm skeptical of SUSE. We utilize 20+ NetWare servers and have since
decided to move to Windows for the majority of them. The products they
are offering are going in the wrong direction in terms of quality.

I am a huge Linux fan, but SLES 10 SP2 with OES2 running nss is a poor

positive, and they continue to get rave reviews of inter-operable
Linux & openSUSE. This is the future..... and between $4 & $4.20
they are building a solid foundation for a leap to $6+. I'm satisfied

Profit taking! If you are long, you have nothing to worry about as
this stock is due to rally to its real value around 6 dollars. For
those who are not long, too bad. This is a low volume stock and when

People tend to ignore risk in the stock market. The primary goal to

After the shorts rammed it last week, it doesn't seem to be beaten
down to much. I'm surprised and happy to see it gaining ground
again. The numbers look good and they have dedicated (CEOs, VPs,

And you think this will pass anti-trust regulations? Considering
Novell holds the UNIX copyright, if MSFT were to buy them and get it,
it can virtually "control" it most big competitors, like Apple (Mac OS
X is UNIX), Linux and the *BSDs. It can pull an SCO if it had the UNIX
copyright and things could get very ugly

There have been a few "suitors" mentioned here and there, the most

They struggle because they have a history of being unable to execute.
Even 3 years ago they had a strategic plan to get to a "multi" billion
dollar company in 5 years. They have not been able get back to 1b.
even with acquisitions.
