i did buy yestarday 100 shares @ 52 and sold today @ 64 .....@ this
price since low but who knows any more.....i think that this person
with this big loss is just joking...i mean who comes on here asking
for heal instead of calling the broker...this is a joke or it is the

For your sake, I really hope this is a joke.

Who invests his life savings in one security?  Especially when that
security is a financial company in today's environment.  Especially on
a margin call.  Wow.

You need to call the broker whom you placed the trade with and have
him help you.  Whether it was etrade or another broker or whoever,
call them and beg for some more time.  You will need to get some extra
funds from somewhere so that you are not forced to sell your stock.
Your situation is very grave and I am very sorry that this has
happened to you.

What happened was that you bought on margin, which is borrowed money.
Then the value of your stock went down, meaning you have less assets
and can borrow less money.  So now you are forced to sell just to
cover the money you borrowed.  That is going to leave you with very
little money in your savings.

Everything will be alright for you eventually.  Ten or fifteen years
from now you will be able to look back at this and laugh, but right
now you need to do everything you possibly can to avoid selling the
stock.

i think this is a joke too....the stock just fell at opening, you
posted at 10am. how did they have a margin call that fast? Ofcourse
you are losing money but the closing bell has not rang yet. If this is
true they will look at your account tommorrow but its not true you
just playing us....and why would borrow if you planned to hold for
long term purposes. nothing makes sense. i was short bear stearns
yesterday after watching the faber report, i just covered at 11:00 am
i didnt expect that drop, i came here to boast abou my wisdom, then i
read your crap and felt sorry. If this is true am sorry, but please
sell to cover the margin call, whether you keep the rest in BSC is up
to you, since you already did that move basing on what we dont know &
why. Start watching the nws a little closely, if u had since
wednesday, am sure you would have changed you mind. CEO rejects rumors
on thursday or wednesday, that a clue for a start, 'your brain should
be asking whats rumors?', if u didnt hear any rumors. wednesday people
sold on rumors. thursday WE (me too shorting) sold when the CEO came
out, Friday everything is confirmed major problems........

It sounds like you purchased 3,000 shares of BSC on margin, meaning
you had the cash for 1,500 shares.  If you bought 4 days ago, you
probably paid in the neighborhood of $65/share, for a total of $97,500
(let's call it $100k).  Worst case scenario you have an exposure of
$200k, meaning that if BSC goes bust, you lose your initial $100k, and
then owe the brokerage house an additional $100k.  If you do not want
to risk losing any assets, I would STRONGLY recommend selling all
3,000 shares at $33/share, and receive $100k; the exact amount you
currently owe in margin.  Granted, you will lose the $100k you
invested, but at least you will still have a home.

In the future, you should really think about diversifying or
leveraging with less capital through derivatives.

All in all, you NEED to sell your 3,000 shares as you are now gambling
with money you do not have.

SBC is a Canadian company (Brompton Split Banc Corp), but, assuming
you meant BSC, I think you are better off going to the casino.  If you
look that the spreads on the derivatives, you will see that everyone
is betting on extreme volatility.  There is probably a 50% chance you
double your money, and a 50% chance you lose your money.  Save
yourself the agony and bet on red at the roulette wheel.

DO NOT BUY FINANCIALS!!! Buy some puts make your money back

If you buy put a stop loss in play.

One word of caution. If you can make so much money so quickly in a
flip as you mentioned earlier, that's a red flag. It means you take
too much risks, and is likely to lose everything quickly too, in this
case the BSC trade.

i think it will shoot up but close around 20 to 30% down...not 40% not
unless market crash...
i am planning to sell 500 that i bought at $30 at $40..

The only ones to sleep well at night with out too much to worry are
people that practice Value investing,, I've tried my share of trading
frequently for some quick gains but in retrospect i think the risk was
a lot compared to the result. jdobb2001 Please call up your broker and
figure out your position. People that day trade, please try and be
safe its now when the bears of wall st are out for the kill. Calculate
