just bought in at 13.92. this is a smoking deal at this level. even
though gold peaked under 800 for a brief moment, it is holding here
again. im going for a short term play with 5-10% within a month.

You can't look at the P/E exclusively. You have to look at the PEG
ratio to account for growth. Barrick and Goldcorp are both large cap
stocks. Kinross is a mid cap stock. I see a lot of growth out of
Kinross in the next 5 years and they have a low amount of debt on the

ok, this guy is trading at $14.73 as I am writing this - levels not
seen since oct 2007. dollar seems to be on pretty strong rally. With a
P/E ratio of 26, this still does not look cheap to me. However,
goldcorp is at about 37 while Barrick is 15 times. Does this make a
strong case for barrick at this point?

Kinross seems to be a much better buy than a few weeks ago when I sold
my shares. It's multiples have come down to reasonable levels, and I
believe it's the beginning of a small gold rally. The wildcard in the
earnings equation will likely be how diluted the shares have become
(obviously, dividing the earnings by a larger number of shares).

I'm expecting earnings to come in higher than most analyst's
expectations. I know fuel cost have hurt production and operating
costs a bit, but I'm hoping the spike in the price of gold during
early 2Q offsets those costs. But even if its below expectation I'm

It does not matter much. Dollar's going down during the next 6-12
months. That means gold and gold producers will go up. Even crappy
gold stocks like NG will go up over the next year. My estimate\target
for KGC is $22 by year end. If events are more favorable, it might
even go up to $26.
