OK...I jumped out today (with a nice little gain) once I began to
think with reason. This stock was my jewel pick of the year, but ONLY

You had to be on the IPO list with major broker houses. For example
Fidelity had as an offering but you had to indicate to them your
interest (how many shares) you are interested in buying. However, I
had a friend that had wanted 500 shares and he was on the indicated

$29 is IPO price, but small investors like myself don't get the
privilege to get it at that price unless your broker has access to
IPOs and offers you shares at the IPO price.

For everyone concerned about VMware using code that is locked-in to
Open Source licenses:
VMware Server 5.3 and prior worked on the FreeBSD OS, which is
released under a BSD license.

Exactly, this sounds like FUD shots off the bow from the likes of
Microsoft. I know they have a similar technology coming ("free") with
their next-generation servers.
I think the Microsoft boat has too many leaks to ever be patched up
and will slowly watch their server hardware die a long and terrible

MOHIT, $52 OR $55, thats what VMW is worth today and thats what
inevstors need to understand. 2 months or 2 seconds is a lot of time
if you think about it!!!!!

I totally agree with you. This stock have done lot better. Many people
just dont understand and not factoring the market condition that
worries investor. I personaly believe this stock will do lot better in
coming weeks. Take a look at LULU , UA. I think VMW is the winner!!!!

Folks,
Not sure if you all had a chance to play in today for vmware, but I
did.. Here are my observations on vMware.
1. Had vmware been IPO before July 27 ( i am glad it didn't happen),
vmware would have done much better job.
This year saw a very good welcome for IPOs compared to last year. I
would say specially before July 26th.

In my opinion the stock is currently way too overpriced! The stock
will come down to where it should be within 2 months (around 35-40).
It may then shoot back up later based on how VmWare does in the coming
quarters.

i think everyone here lacks patience...remember folks rome was not
built in a day and the market is up and down...everyone wants that
quick fix, but the key to making money is patience and with that, your
