Oracle says deal will be approved
Oracle says deal will be approved without any restrictions. Expects to close deal by January 2010. 15 cent discount to deal price says the market believes this story also.

ORCL may say something after the bell
ORCL may say something about the Sun acquisition when they announce their earnings after the bell. Based on where JAVA is trading now, I'd say the deal closes in less than 4 weeks.

Ummm...cantor you don't get the inside story

I'll be msft is behind the objection in the first place. Maybe you're not old enough to remember when the US gov tried to stop msft from getting a... more »

NY prof opines

IBM, Oracle, Java and the future
IBM would only buy low sell high, like any savy business. If Oracle....when Oracle ...finishes the deal, and moves on , IBM will be kicking itself. Just like when cloud computing Open Source and the RED Hat types take over the IT world, IBM and others will be eating their dust. The IBM model of "we get it all", "we own it all", is a thing... more »

with the EC troubles, why is
Java going up a little each day? Is it trying to get back to the buyout price?? Or is it going to keep going up after that
