Subject: Ineptness on the part of Citi Mortgage
On July 5, 06 I received a letter from Fist Horizon Home loans, which
was dated June 29, stating that servicing of my loan #0057263444 was to
be turned over to Citi Mortgage on July 21, 06. I had already made my
July payment to First Horizon (6-28 confirmation # 4812401337 ). I then
received a letter from Citi Mortgage saying that they had taken over
the loan on 7-1-06 (a 21 day discrepancy). They then sent a letter
saying that I was delinquent on my loan to them (# 0770929952). I told
them, in a phone call, of the problem and I thought they resolved it,
as they sent me a letter dated Aug 8 waving late charges and stating
that they realized that problems sometimes came up when servicing was
transferred. I made a phone payment to them for the month of August,
but unbeknownst to me, they did not apply it to August; rather they
applied it to July (which had already been paid to First Horizon). I
sent them a letter asking them to get the problem resolved and telling
them NOT to apply the phone payment to any month except August 06. I
thought all was OK. Now, they have their automated system calling me
several times a day and hanging up on me. Once, it even kept telling me
to hold but no one ever came on the line. A call to them today, was of
no help. The person with whom I spoke on 8-21 said that Citi Mortgage
would contact First Horizon, which they should have done when I
communicated with them in July. They will continue to harass me in the
meantime. I don't know where the blame lies, but it certainly is not
with me, though I am the one who has to put with the harassment and the
waste of time in resolving the issue. The people with whom I have
spoken obviously do not care one iota that I am having these problems
as a result of the mistakes of others. The lady at Citi Mortgage says
they have 30 days to look into the problem, during which time they will
continue calling and harassing me. I am afraid that this will be
reflected on my credit report and that I will spend months trying to
get it corrected.
I need all the help I can get in resolving this issue quickly
