3x damages could be a hefty fine. WMI should have been sold for 26
Billion, since the FDIC still hasn't givin Washington Mutual the 1.9
Billion that JPM "paid" for it, how do we even know it was even a sale
and not a ill-gotten "Gift".

3x Damages should be awarded for the full amount IMO. Make the FDIC
pay 76 Billion and make JPM make good on all the banks bonds.

If that happens we should see a very significant amount of capital
coming down to the UQ's. Subtract the 11.8 Billion in prefer-eds and
debt and we are left with 64.2 Billion for commons.

That would = 37.76$ which I believe is an absolute CRAZY figure. IMO
we will NEVER see that figure in a settlement but if this case drags
on into the discovery trials I believe it would be a possible figure.

IMO we will likely see a settlement in the 8-16$ range since it would
potentially save JPM a ton of money in the longer run, of course I
think JPM is just trying to mess around and delay the payment for as
long as possible.

Do you really think that sometime in the near future that there will
be a settlement and it would be between 8-16 $ range?  If so when will
that happen.  THere hasnt een much activity recently.  Hopefully it
gets better.

I have a question also.  Would it be safe to say that we would know
that JPM is going to pay out by them buying all the remaining Wamu
stocks avail?  I mean it only make sense to buy them all, settle, have
stock go up, and sell for profit to re-coop money back?  IMO, that
would be the marker for settlement.  That is a strategy I would use if
I knew I was being sued and could possibly lose.  Can anyone feedback
if I am way off the soap box?  I am in for the long term and have not
heard much lately.

Jeff,

By court order, no one entity is allowed to own more than 4% of the
total float of WMI securities without stating their ownership to (or
asking permission to buy from) the court.  This order is in place to
protect the current ownership structure of WMI, and therefore WMI's
valuable NOL tax benefits.  This is also our best hope of common
shares remaining intact throughout this ordeal.  If commons go away,
then WMI's "ownership" has changed, and the NOLs (all $20 billion of
them) go away also.  Hope that makes some sense!
