Subject: Hmm... when to load up?
Ok, i'm basing my assumption that majority of the analysts (being
shown on bloomberg) aren't wrong and that SBUX is indeed a 'buy'
stock, having read a few reports i'm semi-convinced that i'll load up
and 'take my chances' with the apparently negative sentiment (hence
the 52 week low, right?).

now my questions is, other than the next quarter results' announcement
in august, is there a another possible catalyst?  if not then i don't
see why i should load up anytime before then, u know?

thanks in advance!

There may be other good news before the quarterly results, but i would
still wait a little bit longer to help see when/if the stock is
bottoming out.

thx for the reply
is there anything in specific that u have in mind regarding the news?
like say for apple, i know they have the worldwide developers
conference coming up where steve jobs might reveal *something*, and so
the conference (which is coming before the Q2 results announcement)
might be a catalyst.  so anything similar for starbucks?

well something tells me that it has already bottomed out. $28 seems to
be a pretty strong support.  though of course support can always be
broken... well thus my question regarding catalyst.

The stock slumped terribly last summer.  I think investors have
anticipated another weak summer (same conditions as last summer: high
gas, lagging retail, and above average temperatures).  I don't see a
sea change coming soon.

Still, I like this stock.  It's a long term buy (think brand and
margins)

hmm... while the observation is true for last year, it wasn't
particularly true for years prior to 2005, so the 'pattern' might not
hold? unless the scenarios are uncannily similar, of course...

I'm interesting in investing at SBUX as well at $28.50, but does
anyone know why the P/E ratio is so high? That's the only thing that
worries me, because I am very confident this company will skyrocket
long-term because of all the devoted customers, and development
overseas.
