Hey Stevens,

VV is not a creep, just an investor with an opinion like the rest of
us.

I would ignore the mud slinging and just focus on the merit of the
arguments to invest or not to invest. Investor popularity has little
to do with investment success. Like I said before, if popularity was a

 Stevens,

Valueline also has an intrinsic value for Bear Sterns at over $100.
Also, VV's "DCF model" is based solely on extrapolating past growth
into the future. I would be very cautious about taking investment
advice from his estimates, never mind DCF estimates in general.

Syr,

My guess (note:guess) is that the stock will trade within the $15-17

 Stevens,

I agree with you.

My estimate of intrinsic value using a DCF model comes in at around
$35. Valueline puts projected price for 2009-11 at $35 on the low end
- They do rate the earnings as untimely though.

Having said that, I would rather pick up the stock around $14 or
lower.

-VV

Come on people... if you have financial interest in this stock -
whether you're shorting or investing long term - you all must have
some sort of targets in your mind on where the stock price would be
going and within what time frames... So just to poll opinions, please
let all hear them in the following format if you all don't mind.

 Hey Stevens,

It all comes down to valuation. Almost any company can be a good
investment at the right price. Starbucks is a good company
(domestically), but not a great investment because of price.

Entertaining rant, but no real evidence to back up your opinion. You
can point to the closing of stores (which you did not), but what else
is there? This is not a damaged company and I'm willing to bet that
Starbucks, despite competition from McDonald's (which you also did not
point out) and despite their store closings, isn't going anywhere. Any guesses on when SBUX will be back to $14.06 or $16.92?
My guess: 7 or less trading days to get at or below $14.06.

Let's have no big dicsussions on this one, just one guess per response
please.

Thanks Gots... I can see, but I don't think it represents the gains of
an average SBUX investor. Perhaps just that one guy who bougt at
$13.33 and was wise enough to cash out at $17. To that guy: "who ever
you are, congratulations!" :-)
