Pershing Square Capital Management
Decreased position by 86% in Q4 2006.

Are any of you still holding this stock?

I have no idea why you would be in this stock unless your hoping for a
buy-out- even then, you have time to get a better entry point then now.

The only reason why I would touch this stock is to short it.  There is
a reason 15% of this stock is shorted!

I have to agree with your comment on shorting this stock. I have never
shorted a stock due to the incredible risk involved. However, Borders
is repeating the same mistake as Toys-R-US in trying to build their
own website to compete with Amazon.com. The Toys-R-US case is a
commonly studied case in business school of what not to do. If they
follow through with this plan we'll be seeing closure after closure of
Borders stores across the U.S.

This is exactly what happened to Toys-R-US and they still aren't the
company they used to be since trying to launch their own site.
Ironically they have become Amazon.com's bitch in the process. Amazon
now handles all their ecommerce for them.

I don't have the margin account or the nerve to short it, but this
seems like a true sinking ship to me.
