i would say accept it that short term that 2.15 is the ceiling.

i tried to explain it to steve here and i think he finally gets what i
am saying... short term... until malone has all the shares needed.
he's looking long term... after liberty takes it. for me, i could care
less about that... i only really care what happens from now until
malone has it.

sucks!

eh... good time to be shopping for the next 10 bagger thats all.

i mean i say it all the time... siri will be fine long term...
so i see the positives in comments like bass over at that article...
ra ra ra bass...
but like steven basically agreeing with me on his article.. it's not
gonna be a 1-2 bagger anytime soon.

thats what got me in to siri... not for the 10-15%+ gain per year over
time...
i want it to 1-2 bag per year... i want it to 10 bag... and lucky to
see 30 bag!!

now it's gonna be as exciting as my WM position... which is still
nice.

keep a bit in siri for the long haul... but time to find a new fishing
hole for the big one. :)

I can assure you this puts no ceiling on the share price. It means
nothing.

What, if anything, will drag on price in the short term is the
uncertainty. People don't like buying in a stock when they don't know
the future plans.
Malone is not telling, It's a corporate secret. You can expect any
good news of substance to boost the price per share up though, without
regard to the
prearranged contract Malone has to buy over 300M shares at $2.15. This
is not the same as a prearranged trade, at a future inflated price,
which is illegal iaw New York Stock Exchange Rule 78. The shares are
purchased at the going price, of $2.15, but the money and shares will
be exchanged at a later date. The purchase was done based on current
price, and that is the primary difference. It did not have to be
reported to the SEC under these conditions, but the company was kind
enough to provided investors with some true transparancy, though
limited, on at least this part of their intentions. Now, shareholders
can be almost assured if Mel has his way, and does a share buyback
with excess cash on hand, the percentage of ownership by Liberty will
surely go up over 50%, guaranteeing Liberty take control with a
minimalistic investment of only $600M total. It's all nuts! how this
company is given away under the nose of retail investors and they
cannot see this. It's your money.

Anyway, this exchange is somewhat like a mutual fund or Institution
retirement plan buying shares all day, doing a VWAP (volume weighted
average price) averaging the price, and quoting the price and all the
shares they purchased during the day in the 15 minutes after the
market close. Difference is, this purchase is extended into the
future, rather than a one day sale on a lot of different buys
throughout the day, and in this case, it is extended through a several
month period but price remains the same.

It's a contract to buy, and a contract by the other party working in
LIberty's favor to sell at current market price. Nothing more. It
guarantees the seller a set price on his shares at yesterdays price of
$2.15, and they would settle on that as the guarantee gives them the
monetized assets on paper to use their money in any other way they
deem necessary, while at the same time, taking side with Malone and
Liberty to meet the goals of Libertys needs.

I think we can get off the ceiling price set by Liberty. That's not
the case at all. What the future holds in pricing, is anyones guess,
but there are no limits up or down as a result of this contractual
agreement.

yes, i think you made it clearer... its due to the uncertainty that
will keep it down.
but people will have to go with what they do know... and what they do
know is the number... 2.15.
so imo i will be in that range.

come on dem... with all you just said... you gonna buy any above 2.15?
lol.

I sold at $2.35
I predicted $2.08 in two days on Monday, I think, before market open,
I think. It hit it.

I'm not interested in SIRI at these prices, due to the uncertainty. I
thought I made that clear a month ago, but sometimes its a good idea
to reinterate. LMCA is the play here.

I can say, last month, I said I would not buy unless it dropped to at
least $2.15, but as always, reevaluate, reevaluate, reevaluate when
the price comes near.

No, I would not buy above $2.15 without some good news on metrics
carrying the price forward, but I would predict the Malone contract is
not something that is going to hold a ceiling at $2.15.

Judging by the momentum now, I would predict the stock will go up
above that price with markets. Europe weighs....

Hey... im not just a ra ra ra guy... i just think LMCA is a good thing
for us longs at this point...in fact i was way down on siri prior to
the CC ... i am thrilled with the 1st qtr number... and DEM nailed
this above... there is a current sort of stalling point without more
info or news and down markets.. yes could go lower.. but Malone (who
we all agree is smarter then us oh yeah and a billionaire) just paid
2.15 to me it's simple... if he thinks it's worth that much... it's
not worth much less than that... SIRI will keep chugging and now that
they are paying off debt... i am even more positive... i truly believe
that we will all win here.. LMCA wins... SIRI wins... all good too
me...

I have to agree with BassFisher.  It's very simple:

1. Malone is willing to pay $2.15
2. Malone is in the business of making money.  Lots of it.

So why on earth would he pay this price if he did not feel that there
is substantial upside from what he is paying.

Unless anyone can provide any logic regarding how Malone will make
money on this purchase, but not the rest of the share holders (please
explain if I am wrong here), then I am along for the ride.

if SF over at SA has it right there is accumulation going on right
now... i tend to believe it.. i don't care about his average share
price given that almost 3 billion were bought for 12,500$... for me
it's more about if Malone wants SIRI then SIRI = good... it's a great
media add to his empire that is and will be a cash generating
machine... not sure how this can be turned into anything negative...

And now it would appear the highly hearlded and hypothetical ceiling
of $2.15 has been broken, with the stock now trading at $2.17 on high
volume and a down market day.

I hope this puts to rest the belief $2.15 is any kind of ceiling. Far
from it. Trade on!

geez... i dont think 2.15 was suppose to be taken as an absolute brick

but it will be interesting if it can get back in the 20s-30s level for
any sustainable period of time.

I've enjoyed reading the blogs and ideas tossed around on this forum
for the last year.   I've learned a lot.
However, there seems to be A LOT of guessing going on here in the last
2 days?   (For the first time even Dem's analysis seemed to be
flopping back and forth! :0)

Monday AM pre-market joy, 10 minute post bell anger, confusion, anger,
and now finally....some joy and starting to see some light through the
trees today.

IMHO it seems to me that it is safe to say overall views on this are
finally shaking out and it will be looked at as a positive influence
on the stock price?
Good luck....

Not sure how I'm flipping, but anything is possible, especially when
using the English language, subject to interpretation and the authors
writings.

At $2.25, I said, $2.15 is possible. At $2.15, I said look for $2.08.
Both were right on.

I have no idea where the stock will go from here and not making any
new calls, but I am certain there is no price ceiling as a result of
Malones purchase contract.

So, I would say, back to the same ole, same ole, news will give it
rise if good, and the absense of news will lead to uncertainty
questions that can weigh on the stock price.

The speculators can push the price of the stock in either direction,
moderately, depending on the speculation and who buys in it. Volume
movement at 100M shares a day is probably gonna be over very soon
until we get something more concrete..

BTW, I would say the "normal trading range" for this stock right now
is $2.25 plus or minus, based on the 60 day.
That's not a prediction, just a normalized trading range based on non

Liberty has the means and ambition....they will get it done.

These guys are very good....and, have been waiting around and planning for
at least 3 years (since their 2009 loan to SiriusXM, which gave Liberty a
40% preferred stake).
