Subject: My Letter to the FCC
Sent this a few days ago through the SIRIUSMERGER.COM web site.  I was
curious what other folks have written...

Thank you for using SIRIUSmerger.com Mail System

Message sent to the following recipients:
FCC
Representative Keller
Senator Martinez
Senator Nelson
Message text follows:

[recipient address was inserted here]

Dear [recipient name was inserted here],

Dear FCC & All Senators:

I am a licensed FCC radiotelephone operator... basically, a licensed
disc
jockey... and have spent several years working in terrestrial radio.
I am
also a consumer.  I hereby demand that you allow the merger of Sirius
and
XM to proceed.  This merger will benefit the public and will increase
the
competitive nature of radio in general.

For years broadcasters have dealt with issues such a "payola" and
political involvement, in one way or another.  For decades consumers
have
had to simply accept whatever content a handful of radio stations fed
them.  These problems are no different than those faced with
terrestrial
television broadcasters versus with HDTV signals.

There comes a point when the FCC must make a change that will benefit
the
consumer and, if possible, encourage the remainder of the industry to
provide better service.  The merger of XM and Sirius do just that
while
providing a more acceptable pricing structure to listeners.

Time is of the essence.  Every minute that you spend allowing the
public
to see this merger remain "in limbo" is another minute you
demonstrate
that you do NOT have the public's best interests in mind.  Allowing
this
merger to go through will provide better programming, fairer pricing
for
consumers, and, more importantly, will encourage terrestrial
broadcasters
to make improvements of their own.

Sincerely...

Well said Fred!

Others:  If you want to use someone else's words in your message to
the FCC, Fred nailed it with this one! (Remember to edit out the part
about being a licensed FCC radiotelephone operator).
