What rumor, a new one or are you talking about the rumors that have
been around for months now. I believe that a take over will not come until a new CEO is in place. On Nov 6, 10:46 am, hilshy drake <hilshydra...@gmail.com> wrote:

That's what I was saying yesterday - it looks like (looked like) the
selling was the start of some covering. But remember, there's not the same level of short interest as there was prior (maybe it increased after the Q3 but I doubt it - at least not by much). On Nov 6, 1:51 pm, blake <blakejone...@gmail.com> wrote:

I don't think it's SCHW .... I just don't think they are as aggressive
as AMTD. It would be a real shock. On Nov 6, 1:51 pm, blake <blakejone...@gmail.com> wrote:

I believe if ETFC sold it would have to be a great deal for them
because they know the value of their market share is huge. I think the pps would be around 3.00 On Nov 6, 1:56 pm, blake <blakejone...@gmail.com> wrote: You must Sign in before you can post messages.

I hear ya - Etrade did get caught up in the mortgage crisis and that
hurt them - but I think they are well on their way to recovery - I strongly believe this stock has been highly manipulated by the high short interest On Nov 6, 12:58 pm, hilshy drake <hilshydra...@gmail.com> wrote:

Subject: Re: What do you guys think? A short squueze?
blake - they're not going BK, so, breaking up the bank and brokerage
really isn't an option anymore. The extension of UI benefits and the first homeowner buyer credit is actually pretty key b/c it means that ETFC's mortgage-related assets will continue to improve. In other words, the buyer has to go for the whole ball of wax and that should make SCHW and AMTD very nervous b/c I don't think they can afford the whole thing "now" (maybe at the end of next year). But someone larger could. The big brokers/bank holding companies want to "be your friend" - they want all your business. We already know they make money off of loaning you money (via credit cards, home loans, school loans, business loans, etc.). However, the lending/credit has not loosened up enough yet b/c of the economy .... Sooooooo, there is a very strong chance a large bank will take over that 15% self-directed brokerage market share before AMTD and SCHW can blink an eye - ETFCs core makes money - people are trading, so a big bank could quickly swoop in. Just me - I see more upside to the pps b/c of this thought. On Nov 6, 1:59 pm, blake <blakejone...@gmail.com> wrote:

I think this not a short squeeze if it stay above the 1.50s and
potentially 1.60s then you mite see a short squeeze. We are still seeing up swing momentum of ETFC not needing any TARP Money form the GOV and ETFC is in a better condition then one year ago. ETFC is in good shape and if they get buyout Win/win for everyone. On Nov 6, 11:58 am, hilshy drake <hilshydra...@gmail.com> wrote:

My opinion for what it's worth is there is no new talk of takeover,
it's just new money comming in looking for the stocks with the biggest upside. A $1.50 stock with an improving balance sheet and a killer broker business. Not expensive and the last real oppurtunity in this sector. We don't have to have a buyout to get to the promised land. It a smart play for the right risk takers and the world is full of them just us. On Nov 6, 2:19 pm, t <dal...@cox.net> wrote:
