fyi, the short interest only updates twice a month. So you can save
your time not checking it everyday.

Yeah, I think there's a bit more house cleaning to do first. I
honestly think, if there's a buyout possibility, it won't happen until
Q4 numbers are crunched. In my mind, that's the earliest time - I
don't think it will happen until right before the next ER sometime in
January. And it makes sense to me.

Dude, I'm referring to the surge in volume after TD's comment. Don't
you think the 90 million share volume surge had some short covering in
it? Wouldn't that make you question a statistic, showing absolutely no
change in short interest, following surge in volume of that magnitude.
It's not important!

key words that you use niche, "surge" and go "up" i think the longer
term investor ARE not looking for a surge...there looking for a steady
increase that reflects company performance as it gets better. i do
respect your point though.

Come on, think about it. Wouldn't you atleast question that data if it
shows no short interest change after a buyout rumor. Not to mention a
massive and immediate surge in volume. Hello!!!!!!!!!

Speaking of retiring debt, Etrade can retire those 900 mil in 12.5%
notes starting in 2012 for 112.5.

I bet the capital plan looks good to TD, if not they would not even
look at it. I know anyday ETFC will be bought out for $1.76+

I also read in an article - have to find the link - that a good reason
AMTD was not going to buy out ETFC was their debt overhang. With this
out of the way - this could be the green light we were looking for?

You still have it. Wishful thinking does not work. Like I have said,
the price will move up but it will not surge. There will be no
buyout. Let's see what happens next week.
