With a market cap of $2 billion, is it possible E*Trade will get
dropped from the S&P 500?

Can anyone provide insight on how the S&P 500 index is updated?

If E*Trade does get dropped from the list, the fund indexes that
mirror that S&P will have to sell...
This stock may reach some new lows.
