Rises on a horizon?

As China becomes more and more of a power, the economic growth will
explode and a handful of companies will become tremendous money
makers. Albeit, depending on the politics of the region in the next
few years and as things change around the world could this possibly be
one of them?

Yes the market as a whole for 2008 will continue to perform poorly but
that does not mean every single stock will do so also. Why do most
people only see things in black and white and not discuss the grey
areas?
Believe it or not there were stocks in 2007 that made a 25% return

I have been told that investing in the stock market is like riding a
roller coaster except your emotions respond the opposite. In other
words as your going up the incline you have a feeling of exuberance
but when you get to the top and start traveling downward instead of
elation you experience disappointment and anticipation of the next

Maybe somone has the explanation as to how some of this works. ATS
for the months of November and December traveled downward in share
price. There was no news during these months posted by the company
Lately ATS has started to climb - again there has been no recent news
posted by the company

Applying my new criteria to stock picks for 2008

As I said earlier I think I have learned from my previous mistakes. I
have applied my new criteria when looking for possible investments for
2008 (provided my original investments get to at least what I paid for
them) and have found the following companies to be a good choice I

As a new investor (3 months) I believe I have made some mistakes and
have learned from them.
I thought I would post here what I believe now to be the right way to
do things maybe in doing so helping other new investors so they won't
have to lose money like I did.
This applies to a semi-long term investor,(1 to 5 years), I believe

Learning the hard way - They say the best way to learn is by doing and
it has cost me a lot but I am picking up on little things along the
way like if your invested in a stock tied to the Asian market both the
U.S. and the Asian markets have to do well for that stock to do the
same - only 1/2 of that was the case today which may be the reason ATS
