Subject: Circuit City To Close 155 stores
So we had a meeting at our store today, and we were all told to go
look for new job before the years end. we along with 155 other stores will nolonger be. I just hope that CC can still hold there head above the water. And i wonder what this will do for the stock prices? You must Sign in before you can post messages.

It'll probably be good for the company overall, since it was pretty
common knowledge within the company that around 200 of its stores were gigantic loss generators. At this point it's better for them to have less stores that are not bleeding cash than more stores and continued hemmoraging. You must Sign in before you can post messages.

Walmart is still ill prepared for as electronics outlet .
Circuit City closing will only give Best Buy to dictate prices and rule the industry till last CC store falls. Sad BUT amazing fruit of capitalism! Guys grab Radio Shack, OMX, ODP stocks now.

CC this is great news for share holders. getting rid of fire dog,car
installations,150 stores and 7500 employees// good news. this stock goes to 78-1.08 tomorrow. CC is going to make a comeback from the dead, this is why i threw 2000 shares at it on wed i guess. man i called three stocks this past week, CC GKK and tata motors, wish me luck this week.....I am hedging that CC does have a loss for q-4, but by q-2 this little rocky of a company is pounding away on Mr T. 3.45 in q-2. da na na da na na You must Sign in before you can post messages.

Why RadioShack? And ODP is losing money (not profitable currently),
so why pick that one when there are many other profitable companies. And, as for OMX, they will have a large write down this quarter, resulting in negative earnings; so, while OMX looks tantalizing, I expect it to drop precipitously right after this coming earnings announcement, but would look to buy it when that drop seems to have bottomed (probably within a day or two of the announcement). That's my guestimate at any rate. You must Sign in before you can post messages.

I think they do see some benefit here. It's going to be a tough road.
This closing was way overdue. This 150 stores includes some real pigs. What they call "legacy real estate"- meaning old dead centers or locations, stuff that should have been cycled out a long time ago if this was a healthy retailer. I am thinking this move comes as no small coincidence to the delisting

I think this news provides a better chance for shareholders to recover
their positions than the most likely alternative - bankruptcy. It's a sad moment for employees, but from the tone of posts by employees on this forum, it sounds like many employees are disgruntled and will be better of emotionally to move on to other employment. Ironically, I think the best consolation for ex-employess would be to now invest in CC. If the stock price goes up from this paring down of the company's size, these ex-employees can probably make more money trading CC stock than they would have received in salary. Weren't these employees got enough time to look for new job? CC is
going down since an year. I really do not care if they write about cc in disgruntled manner! You must Sign in before you can post messages.

Well, Mr. Jack Loftus (of Gizmodo Australia), how about some honesty
as opposed to dishonesty you put out as "news"! You are quite close to being a blad-faced liar, and seem like someone desperately trying to push CC's stock further down! First, you say that Sony has discontinued shipments to CC, and that is false; Sony turned around trucks headed to a CC distribution center that had a huge sinhole appear right next to the building. Sony has NOT discontined merchandise shipments to CC. Second, you now have the gall to claim that CC is "withdrawing from the consumer electronics business for good." Again, that is patently false on your part. CC has done and is doing no such thing; rather, CC is closing unprofitable stores in an effort to avoid bankruptcy altogether and to begin to turn the company around profitably by keeping its many other profitable stores in business--as consumer electronics sellers! Come to think of it, you ARE a liar! You must Sign in before you can post messages.

There are thousands of employees who still work with CC for their
family in this tough economic time. They still have faith to pull on the disaster. You abandoned Aussies grab your Fosters and think of your forefathers
