Since they will be downgraded, the question is not if the company will
the be nationalized, sold for a penny on the dollar or go bankrupt.
The question is WHEN will it happen. Write it down in your calander.

Monday 13 october 2008 4 PM: RIP Morgan Stanley

I predicted this a month ago check the forums, MS is too highly
leveraged, and with all the panic selling their bets have been wiped
out. they are done.

Next week some major financial institutions will fall. That will be
the climax of this hole crisis. Then it's more safe to start buying.

Till then, the only good trading is daytrading, or shorting.

But regardless, the deal is going to happen. Wait till Tuesday. Then
say goodbye to the shorts.

Yeah - WB had $140 billion in cash deposits - a lot of good that did.
The question is - whose money is it really - MS or their customers?
The next question - MS is one of the firm (along side of GS, Lehman,
etc.) who started and participated in this mess - don't forget they've
made off with billions in bonuses and pay - and decent investors paid
a huge chunk of those billions.  Let me put it this way - if MS is
gone tomorrow - your world will not change at all - you can still eat,
s&()&t, sleep and drive your car to work (if you have a job still).
MS was a leech on this society same as the rest of investment banks -
why would you be upset by its disappearance?  And take it form someone
who lost thousands on WB bankruptcy - in a blink of an eye your money
will be gone too if someone somewhere decides to nail the coffin shut
on this pile of dung.  But hey - I thought I was gonna make some money
off WB while thinking - "they will not fail, how could they?"

Alex, get your facts straight. MS's $180B is LIQUID cash, meaning it
is money they can freely spend and have readily available to them.
WB's $140B in deposits belonged to their customer base, and so, while
WB technically controlled that money, they couldn't actually spend it
without facing massive lawsuits.

There has been no bad news about this company other than a "possible"
moody's ratings cut. Rumors are being started that the MFUG deal won't
go through even though both companies continue to insist that it
will.  Stock definitely will rally by the end of trading today or if
people continue to ignore the fact that the company is in sound
financial condition, it will rally on Tuesday after the deal goes
through.

Ap I agree with you.  to be frant enough this is my first post I am
putting ever. Normaly I only read it. I am expecting a baby in 3 weeks
or any time now. I have put my entire savings what I had till now in
MS shares. if MS goes this means My life saving are gone.  But yes I
beleive in one thing If this deal would not happen MUFT and MS would
not go again and again and give statements about it one after another.
Nay ways I am sure even if it does not work,  other companies like
City or GS will always be interested.

Thanks
