Subject: How high can it go?
With the increase of oil prices, how high do you guys think this stock
can go? I know they just re-started production of oil which is good. Anybody knows if BZP is going to jump in the new oil fields that the peruvian goverment is going to sell? Thanks You must Sign in before you can post messages.

If logic prevails, this little company should do well. The value of
the stock is largely dependent on this company's continued exploration successes. Doing the math is important here, particularly if oil scales back in price. Emotional buying and selling of this stock could temporarily distort it's immediate stock price but it is the development of BPZ's assets as a result of the drilling program that will lead to potential and significant price increases to it the stock value. Paying close attention to empirical data such as DST data and drilling results should guide the serious investor when evaluating the real value of this company... even in relation to the price of crude. In short, it is not necessarily the recent price of oil alone that will determine how high this company can go, but how much in the ground asset growth this company produces that will be the real determining factor as to how high it's stock price will rise. The company meeting is in 8 days, and your question about their potential interest in the new leases is a good one. I also would like to know where direct and indirect expenses are headed so we can gain a clearer picture of the earnings potential in 09 and 10 based on known production. Looks like $1 million a day may not be an unrealistic revenue projection, even at $80 a barrel. Personally, I can see $2 EPS in 09...anybody care to provide a multiple? At 25 times we are looking at a $50 stock price. You must Sign in before you can post messages.

on fool.com, go to INVEST => CAPS and type in BZP, I saw the F P/E was
13 and EPS for FY 2009 was $1.69. You must Sign in before you can post messages.

Checked out the June 13 Reuters report and they have it trading
presently at 32 times 2008 estimates. They are estimating $2.00+ for the 2009 earnings. I would love to have a crystal ball for the earnings multiple, but I think 25 is not unrealistic considering the drilling results and potential growth of this company. The Reuters is an interesting report. You must Sign in before you can post messages.
