Good news is just pouring out - if only the stock reflected it.

First, BPZ announced a 7 year contract w/ a Peru oil refiner valued at
$1.3 BILLION dollars.

Second, BPZ announced today that they are running at about 6,000
barrels per day (estimated to 180,000 barrels per month) in production
for January (a 21.6% increase from December !! )

One piece of bad news is the break off from Shell - but BPZ should be
able to just blow right through any downside from that.

While this is still an oil play (an oil really kinda sucks these days)
I think BPZ will blow out earnings / production numbers in the years
to come.

Just a quick comparison - BPZ had total revenues of ONLY $2.35 MILLION
USD in 2007 -- and in Jan 2009 they signed a 7-year contract worth
$1.3 BILLION USD (Billion with a 'B').  That is simply outstanding for
this company.

In the years to come BPZ will soar - massive oil reserves and a
rebound in oil prices will provide a double whammy on the upside by
2010.

In the green with oil far in the red and energy stocks down almost 4
percent! looks like that new contract should give it a much need
boost.
Very nice.

This company is sitting on a world class field. If oil is back up to
$90/bbl in a year or so, BPZ's standardized measure could easily
eclipse $10 billion (or over $120/share). Glad Greg Smith is making
the presentation to Society of Analysts tomorrow (11/6).

Ya I think the prospects are great for bzp. going to be a good buy on
the long haul. The stock is very reactive to the price of oil. I heard
today opec is going to try and keep the 100 dollar barrel. So you can
bet on one thing and that is: they are going to maintain a bottom and
the bottom will always go up.

Those types of oil wells require somewhat unique techniques. 70
degrees or lower degrees results in more volume coverage, thereby
tapping the difficult geography. Its far cheaper than horizontal
drilling, which they are trying to implement in North Dakota's oil
sands (I believe they are the Alberta oil fields). If you read up on
previous contractors of the Peru territories, the big boys deemed the
drilling not cost efficient almost a decade ago because of they
difficult terrain. Things have changed since then, hence the agreement
with Shell.

This company was been overbought this year and is correcting itself.
Long term, this is a great buy, for they will soon be growing their
eps expontentially. I sold out of my holdings for the time being at
mid 20's. Will wait for for it to dips lower as crude continues to
80-90/brl.

Current expected entrance month: Febuary
