Subject: Promising Value Stock
Even after the 30% price jump today, this seems to be a good buy.  The
stock price has been declining in the past year, yet sales are picking
up substantially each quarter.  Historically it has been much higher,
and as it gets noticed it should gradually inch up.  Maybe $ 3-4 by
mid-summer?  I am going out on a limb here.

It seems to be in a good business; biotechnology consumables.
Particularly the DNA microarray (AKA DNA chips) business should really
pick up in the next few years as genetic testing gets used every more
widely across the board.  Many small biotech companies live out most
of their existance without many sales, with investors hanging on it
hope of a big development.  It seems NGEN will have an increasing
business that is not as dependent on single drup approvals.  It could
turn profitable soon too, or be bought out.

YOu gotz to be in it to win it. No backing out now! Yesturday's jump
was nothing but a foreshadowing of what's to come.  I'm happy for NGEN
and I think they are making more great achievements.  Good luck to all
and don't sell short for gains!

NGEN seems to be a company waking up.  They are entering licensing
agreements with other firms, producing more marketeable products and
trying to avoid issuing more stock.

Some will say they are not the company they once were.  True.  There
are more companies in their business area now, but nanogen nonetheless
has a position in a number of growing markets.  The question is
whether everything they have is worth more than $100 million.  I would
say it is.

My family has held stock in Nanogen for 15 years, and yet I'm quite
confused by what you consider to be their recent "great achievements"
and your view that the technology will revolutionise medicine in the
next few years. Would you care to explain?

I'd concur that they have not great achievements as of recent, but
that they are beginning to stir.  A lot of it is just basic work of
reoganizing the company, applying what they have.

15 years, wow.  Maybe you should have sold it in the late 1990s.  But
from a new investors point of view, it seems to be a good buy right
now.
