>  WHY ARE YOU STILL SO CONCERNED ABOUT THE DIRECTION OF THIS COMPANY AND STOCK?

Simply because eBay is deceiving investors much the same as they
attempt to deceive their own users.

eBay claims they want to be a safe palce for buyers and sellers to
conduct business, but their lack of action with regard to Non Paying
bidders and fraud assisted by PayPal prove otherwise.

eBay releases public relations articles such as how they have cut
fees, when in fact the listing fee reduction is actually a fee
increase when one considers the significant Final Value Fee increases.

eBay claims they are attempting to reduce high shipping costs, yet the
costs are still there and are now buried in the purchase price. This
benefits eBay as they do not get a fee on shipping, but their low
balled fixed shipping prices cuase sellers to increase the selling
price where eBay does collect fees.

eBay is the worst when it comes to full disclosure. Victims - i.e.
eBay sellers are speaking out because eBay executives appear allergic
to truthful and accurate statements in favor of carefully worded
statements they hope will have a minimal effect on their declining
stock value.

Maybe they are hoping that someone with at least half a brain will
take note of what is happening to thousands of good sellers who have a
vested interest in the site.
Maybe they are hoping that someone will care enough to begin to put
some pressure on the people that are responsible for all the bad
changes that are happening.
Possibly they are wrong and no one cares at all.

One great caution... If these new Up-starts think they can duplicate
what eBay
did, they are very wrong... eBay was built on a lot of corruption and
new Up-starts
will be highly scrutinized, so there will never be another Disaster
like eBay!

Cooper,

Let me try to explain this to you and everyone else, for that
matter...

I am known as the Ebay Avenger.  I have been investigating eBay for
almost 4 yrs. now.  My initial findings were of eBay-involved shill-
bidding;
an organized shill-bidding format actively supported by eBay on a
World-wide level.  These programs were implemented by Meg Whitman.
When I brought my findings to the attention, of one, Meg Whitman,
she directed eBay's Legal Department to send me a letter to ask me
to stop my investigation.  (Yes, I still have the letter!)  All Ms.
Whitman
could do, at this point, was to stop "the way" eBay was conducting
business and she couldn't resign quick enough, to try to save face!
I will continue my crusade until Ms. Whitman is held responsible for
her
involvement.  She has lied to and misled so many people.  Alot of
people
blame Mr. John Donahoe for eBay's demise, but he is just trying to
clean up Meg's mess.  All the recent changes are efforts to disguise
the "real" picture... in fact, eBay has been "disguising" for years...

But no more.

Some very big, Very BIG Companies are also involved in my findings...
I am assisting the authorities on these matters.

Most Sincerely,
EA!

Some people are concerned because the direction of the stock and
company directly effect their finances. Sure, if you own stock you can
just sell. But if you notice, according to the charts on this site,
approximately 70% of the stock is institutionally owned. Most of these
institutions are retirement funds. Some people might come here because
they are simply unhappy with eBay, some think that if what's happening
becomes known that pressure will be put on eBay to straighten up.
Still others may come here to dissuade the retirement funds from
further investing in an imploding company. Some people type without
thinking and some think first. As the answers to your question seem
obvious I'll assume it's a rhetorical question. Rhetorical questions
are fine but shouldn't require the caps lock.

I am just curious why someone who abandoned Ebay would come back to
it's stock forum to bash Ebay's management team and method. What's the
mentality behind this. Do they still have an interest in the stock's
direction or not? My guess is they do.

The reason people are so unhappy is that the company has let them down
and is now so full of itself it is lying to investors. I was 100%
behind ebay for over 10 years I invested time and money along with
many other ebay sellers making the company what is was and we now feel
betrayed imagine Due to the new rules it is as if 1 million people
have been unfairly dismissed from their jobs
We tried to talk to ebay we even had a seller boycott but they did
not seem to care. We then did some research and upon closer scrutiny
we have found ebay to be a tissue of lies list padding fake ebay
accounts listing loads of items to make the figures look good and
other dishonest things the company is doing to keep the figures
looking good and are trying to inform the stockholder which is a noble
and only thing we can do ebay don't listen to their custormer so maybe
we have a better chance if their stockholders start to question what
is going on
In short if your boss change the rules at work so you could not work
there anymore you would want to know why?

It makes no less sense than someone coming here to promote eBay and
say they are the best thing since sliced milk. If their retirement
fund invests in eBay they have an interest, if they want stockholders
to vote Donahue out, they have an interest. Their interest may be in
the direction the company takes, not the direction of the stock price.
Since everyone has a different (or even multiple) reason for being
here, you will have to direct your question to individual posters and
they might tell you. Most stockholders that come here just want eBay
to stop making bad decisions. Some want them to make bad decisions so
they can short the stock. Some are self-serving, some are fighting
injustice. Whatever the case may be no one should let the lies
overshadow the facts and eBay has been doing a lot of the lying as of
late.

The eBay Titanic is sinking!   Even my grandmother hates eBay now.
She can't sell there.  Her listings are not showing thanks to ebay's
policies.

Stockholders, when you bought eBay stock a year ago at $40 a share, I
am sure you figured eBay was a solid buy and would make a modest
profit in a year. There was no real reason to believe otherwise. With
the economy getting worse it would seem eBay to be one of the best
buys at that time. There would be more people pulling items from the
closet to make an extra buck and a lot more people would be looking
for great deals on eBay to save a buck.
Now you find that you have taken nearly a 50% loss and have to hold
with hopes of a comeback. Not going to happen. What has changed over
the last year to cause you your loss. It can not be the sellers or
buyers as an increase of those was very anticipated. There are two
reasons why you have had a loss and why it is not going to get better.
New management and new policy changes causing turmoil in the eBay
community.
As a seller or buyer we can go to a different venue to do business at
anytime and we might have a minimal monetary loss. There is not one
thing that forces us to stay with eBay, it is one of many places we
can do business and the loss is just on venue will not hurt to the
same degree as you with shares in eBay. If you decide to not do
business with eBay you loose half of what you invested. A seller can
make up their losses fairly quick. How long will it take for you to
just break even, one, two maybe three years. Then again you might just
go down with the ship. Right now you can still buy your way on a
lifeboat buy selling, yeah it may be a hefty fee, but at least you
will be safe and can find another ship to board, because you still
have some money left to buy a ticket. If you wait too long, there
won't be any lifeboats left and you will go down with the ship with no
hope of being saved.
The stockholder is in a different position because

As a long-time eBay user, I monitor this, and other eBay related
forums, and make occasional posts, because I don’t like the way eBay
has become a platform that either perpetrates, facilitates, or enables
thousands of crooks to enter the homes of millions of honest eBay
customers, while maintaining that they are only a venue, and have no
responsibility for the crimes being committed.  I also believe that
some of their policy changes are meant solely to obscure their
culpability in the criminal activities that surround them.  I hope,
for the sake of all of the institutional investors out there, that
they really do have the cash they say they have on their balance
sheet, because their “Goodwill” and other assets will not go very far
to cover their liabilities and the common stock outstanding.
