The new fees change might look lower,.. but the commision is higher.
So if you add up the math, it will cost even more. Ebay seller getting
pissed.

I think ebay stock will hit $20 low this year.

Smile! Low fees and no more bad feedback for buyers...... or should
that be: ouch! we are in a really harsh recession!

If eBay got desperate enough to charge higher closing fees AND got rid
off the sellers' right to leave negative feedback for troublesome
buyers (you know, the folks who bid on dust and expect gold), that is
a clue that the site and overall sector is really not doing well at
all and is expecting more doom and gloom ahead!

Basically, expect to pay more to ebay, and thus have sellers flee
elsewhere.  Within a year, I am guessing many eBay sellers will
migrate back to resell in physical flea market.

Think about it, if you cannot leave a buyer bad feedback, as a seller
you must expect more negatives, which means you will not sell as much
at higher prices, which in turns means fewer commission, and thus eBay
has to raise commissions, which apparently it preemptively already
did. The higher fees means less sales ..... and I think we all get the
idea.

While I myself don't expect any drastic measures like bankruptcy, do
you think this has any long term negative potential for the company?

I personally have already went to an alternate web site and am very
happy I did.  This fee decrease is still going to hurt just about
everyone unless you don't sell anything.  But, I thought the object
was to sell more...

I've read that Amazon is the biggest threat for ebay but if you add up
all the little sites there is some threat there, too.  I personally
like eCrater.com along with lots of other sites.  Do the research and
its amazing what is out there besides ebay.

other seasonal sellers don't know where else to go.
flea markets don't do well either.

its time for ebay to perform. im going to buy in today. www.swiftstocks.com
is showing it at 27.17 right now. that seems like a good price point
as everything is a bargin these days!

And no negative feedback for buyer? When will the new policy kick in?
I have tons of buyers try to get things for free－I have deliver
confirmation shows delivered, but they pretend they didn't receive it.
And there are few crazy buyers will bid all of your listing and ask
for free shipping for no reason. NO negative feedback for buyers? They
will just threaten to leave negative if they can't get the stuff for
free. I'm out.

Except eBay doesn't own enough shares to make Craigslist charge their
ads, and since the ad website is starting to cut into eBay's revenue
it started Kijiji.
