Subject: LGND IS OVERSOLD!!!!!!!
I don’t know how many people listen to the webcasting of Thomas
Weisel
Partners Healthcare Conference; no matter you did it or not, let’s go
over some important details of this conference. I am sure that even
those people who have no ideas of drug industry will admit that it is
so unbelievable after making a comparison of LGND’s real value and
current stock price:

1, LGND has 10 pharmaceutical deals, with over 21 development
programs. The programs not only have a chance to generate substantial
milestones, over $600 million in milestones, but also future
royalties. For royalties incomes, please refer to AVINZA which was
sold to King and brings ten of millions dollars royalty to LGND every
year.

2, the 11 million dollars stock for stock merger agreement with NRGN
will bring LGND about 7 million dollars hard cash plus access to
NRGN’s pipeline. Please remember this: Just the Merck full sponsored
pain drug VR1 will bring LGND 10 million dollars milestone payment
once Merk start Phase 3 clinical trial. VR1 is now at Phase 2.

NRGN also has programs for Parkinson's Disease and Insomnia.

After listening to the webcasting, I told my friends: “this deal is
as
beautiful as the deal which Lakers got Pau Gasol from Grizzlies.”

3, I already introduced LGND’s pipeline in my last article, and there
is a more detailed programs outline from this conference. If you are
interested in it, you can find it in my blog at Motley Fool (my
screen
name is AndrewGreenBull).

There is one thing I have to emphasize: LGND sold AVINZA and four
other drugs to King and another Japanese company for 500+million
dollars in 2006, and there was $2.5 dividend payout in 2007 after the
deals were finished. Now I want to ask you readers a question, if
LGND
sold 21 drugs or the whole company( I believe quite a few drug makers
are interested in it), will it cost only $2.5/Share?

The answer is quite obvious: absolutely not! Simply think about this:
after the merger agreement with NRGN finished by the end of this
year,
LGND will have total 50 million dollars cash in hand, and the current
stock price is not even 1/5 of its real value.

4, there were two more big surprises from the conference:

One is that collaboration with BMS in the area of B38 MAP kinase
inhibitors. The collaboration started about 12 years ago. It has
generated various leads. Right now, BMS is running three Phase II
studies in rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and arthrosclerosis. The
larger of the three, the rheumatoid arthritis trial, completed
accrual
in July this year, and the data are expected next month.

I can smell that the milestone payment is nearby.

Another one is PROMACTA again; a lead drug partnership with GSK,
phase
3 data is expected to be released at ASH in New Orleans in December.
LGND has a potential for earning over $10 million in milestone
payments from existing collaborations.

P.S. don’t forget Wyeth’s and Pfizer’s 3 NDA submissions.

When tons good news coming on the way, and the current stock price is
below 50 days average and 200 days average, my intuition tell me that
LGND is oversold.

Current Price $2.37 My 3 Month Target:$5 My One Year Target:$10

When CDC was at $0.7, CDC CEO Peter Yip didn't announce CDC was

why symbol CHINA is worth $15 PART II

Subject: why symbol CHINA is worth $15 PART II
(for PART I, go to CHINA msgbd and srch "crm")

why symbol CHINA is worth $15 PART II
And why mkt is still playing catchup on the massive misvaluation.
Key Pts-
1. At current price of $2.6, this mkt totally ignores that CDC Global
Services and CDCGames exist!
That’s at least $4 a share missing in CHINA shares based on analysis
below. CHINA should be at least $6.5 a share , if not higher. This is
where we think the opportunity is .

2. CDCS recently announced earnings release of 21% and 45% percent
increases in Adj EBITA for the second quarter and first 6 mths of 2009
yr over yr . And they projected reasonably good full yr 09 rev of
around 200M and ebitda of 50M. This gives CDCS a est PE ratio of just
9 and PS of 1.This cheap valuation really makes CDCS a real value play
and a possible M&A play compared to peer symbol CRM trading at PS of
5.4.
A rising CDCS stk to PS of 5 will contribute to CHINA since CHINA owns
83.4% of it.

3. Taking CHINA’s entry into the big education sector and assuming a
PS of 5 for all its parts( which we think is fair due to analysis
below), CHINA parent should be trading at about 2 bil mkt cap at
around $20 per share . Even assigning a value of PS of 1 to CDC Global
Services should still give CHINA a valuation of $15.74 per share.

Detailed Analysis- Lets take a look at parent CHINA aggregated value
with its 4 parts-

1. Latest ipo spinoff Symbol CDCS- CDC Software – PS of 1.08. Public
owns 16.6%, CHINA Parent owns 83.4 % valued at 217 mil
2. Spinoff symbol 8006 HK China.com- valued at 55 mil USD - PS of 4.2
CHINA Parent owns almost 100 % of it
3. CDC Global services – 100% held within CHINA parent
4. CDC Games –100% held within CHINA parent

Therefore the combined valuation of the spinoff public entities that
China parent owns equals 272 ml . And CHINA parent is currently
trading at $2.6 around the same valuation.

Hence, this mkt totally ignores that CDC Global Services and CDC Games
exist!

CDGames is worth at least a PS of 5 for a valuation of 337 mil. Which
equates to $3.18 per CHINA share.
CDC Global Serv. should be 438 mil valued on a industry PS of 5. If
not, it should at least trade at a PS of 1 at 109mil for around $1.03
per CHINA share

CDCS should catch up peer symbol CRM valuation PS of 5 given recent
good earnings ann. and fwd projection.

**NeartermCatalysts
1.      CDC Games just recently announced that it sees a increase of 50% in
revenues due to launch of new games. And the launch of the very much
anticipated Lords of the Rings in September really build the revenue
momentum.
*** Having a history of spinning divisions off, it wont be long that
CHINA parent will spin CDC Games off to further affirmed and boost
CHINA shareholder valuation****
2. CHINA announced entry into the big hot Chinese education market
will no doubt boost its valuation in the next 1-5 yrs. Just look at
peer symbol EDU.

3. As stated previously, CDCS a real value play and a possible M&A
play compared to symbol CRM trading at PS of 5.4.

**Some previous readers in PART I was wondering if a PS of 5 is
justified. (Search for PART 1 in msgbd) Lets take a look at some
comparisons :
In the CRM space, CDCS is trading at ps of 1 vs peer symbol CRM ps of
5.
In the fierce Chinese gaming space, CYOUand PWRD is trading at PS of
8,SNDA at 6 and NTES at 11.,
Though rev not exactly comparable, CHINA has similar 08 annual rev to
BIDU, NTES, SOHU and SINA, and yet CHINA is trading at just 5% of NTES
mkt cap, 11% of SOHU mkt cap and 16% of SINA mkt cap based on FY08 rev
numbers. This makes CHINA perhaps the cheapest relative value play in
the Chinese web sector as well as a M&A play
Trading Guidelines -Pls do your own homework on the above pick .Pls
apply strict stop loss and trailing stops. Assess risk/reward,,
fundamentals: potential changing news events. Further Updates may or
may not be provided.
