Mr Wu Rui Lin the sole shareholder of China Luxuriance sold his
company to Xing, a publicly listed company which he is also the
Chairman, for a sum of USD110,000,000.00 I wonder whether it is a
common practice for Chinese companies. This practice could be one way
to legally convert the investors/shareholders money to enrich the
executives and it appears to be another form of inside trading which
should have a law to prevent it from happening.  I welcome any
comments.

I agree with ya.  Also, Xing has a market cap that is lower than its
shareholders' equity,  debt is insignificant and they have posted a
profit.  This company is a buy and hoard until it stops dropping. In
the case it drops to 0, then buy 100% of it for free, then unwind it
and get yourself with many times worth what you paid by liquidating
assets and getting cash of the company.

this company is now in the coking coal business. it's the coal used to
fire up the ovens in steel production. so as the economy recovers...
check out two canadian companies in the coking coal business trading
on the TSE grand cashe coal GCE, and western canadian WTN. both are up
big time recently. i expect XING to soar pretty soon as well.

Yes, the valuation is very attractive.

Assuming the company didn't cook their books, of course.

It still holds 2/3 of NYSE:QXM and seems to be switching to raw
materials/mining.

See:

sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1051846/000095012309022503/
d68124d6812401.gif

Looking at QXMs valuation, XING is way undervalued.

Anybody with more insight, thanks for comments.

PS: Please keep this thread spam-free.

Thanks to Sam

There was some of the reason of the difficulty valuing this correctly

Based on their filings:

EPS:
08Q3:          USD: 0.07   (Cash Sept 08: 612 Mio USD)
08First half:  USD: 0.21   (Cash Jun 08: 581 Mio USD)
That is EPS: 0.28 for 3 Quarters or approx 0.37 a Year

In their 3 Quarter Filing The EPS of 0.07 UDS equavalate 0.49 RMB
(Chinese currency)
That is 7 RMB pr Dollar

Google Finance is incorrectly mixing the 2 currencies in their
calculation of EPS. Shame on Google Finance for that. Thats a first
grader mistake.

A more correct EPS with todays shareprice will be: 2.03/0.37 = 5.49

(Still very cheap and they have got a huge pile of cash)

 I have calculated

I'm not sure where you got $3B value from but I sincerely hope you are
not forgetting that google finance reports this companies assets in
CYN and not in Dollars. Wouldn't want any one making an investment
decision on a mistake like that!

How much would you people value XING? If you look at assets minus
debt, it's about 3 billion in value. If you look at P/E, you must not
forget Chinese companies typicaly trade at P/E ratio of 50. But this
is all going by the book. We all know this one is undervalued, but how
much you think?

I´m not sure about valuations

I found 3 EPS for 2008
8Q3: 0.07
8Q2: 0.04 (calculated)
8Q1: 0.17

Thats 0.28 for 9 month or 0.39 for a Year

Shareprice is 2.14
EPS : 0.39
That is: P/E: 2.14/0.39 = 5.49
nowhere near 0.62 as stated on Google Finance (But still pretty low)

They got a huge provenue from IPO (Sales) of Qiao Xing Mobile Comm.
I guess it might be this IPO polluting the numbers (But I dont know)
