Subject: Apple Software Headed To PC's
Psystar Corp. can continue its countersuit against Apple Inc. over the
debate of whether or not the “HackAMack” company can continue to sell it’s computers preloaded with Mac OS X software said a Judge on Friday. Although they lost the battle over suing Apple for anti-trust in November, Psystar’s countersuit instead agues that Apple has stretched copyright laws by tying the Mac operating system to its hardware. If Psystar proves that Apple abused copyright laws, some of Apple’s charges against the company be overturned. This is has the potential to be a cutting blow to Apple and it’s future as an OEM. It would mean other manufaturers would then be free to follow in Psystar’s footsteps, letting anyone (on a case by case basis) to sell machines with Apple software loaded up. Uh Oh.
