Subject: Earnings & guidance
Commenting on the results, Mr. Zhiguo Fu, Chairman and CEO of Advanced
Battery Technologies, stated, "We are pleased with the progress that
our Company has made despite the difficult economic environment. We
were able to achieve suitable revenue growth for the quarter, although
we will strive for greater growth in 2009 with increased production
capacity and tighter cost controls. As such, we expect the expanded
assembly line in Harbin to be operational late in the second quarter
of 2009, which will add the production capacity enabling an additional
$22 million in revenue generation for 2009. We remain optimistic about
our continued growth in the remainder of the year and currently our
backlog for the battery business is approximately $64.0 million as of
early May."

Sounds like some pretty decent statements to me.  I like the fact that
the 22 mil of rev generation is in 2009.

Any other thoughts?  I think we have a nice upside from here!

Not with China Industrial growth decreasing in this psuedo depression
and the Bike company they now own. What?they didn't do their homework
before buying it to see its worth and revenue potiential and
liabilities. Sounds like a possible set back. This is probably a long
term big winner. I will take a qucik profit on this one and get back
in after a pull back to support in the $2.60 range. Still have 3000
shares.

Did the same, pulled out at 3.70 and will get back in around
2.70-2.80.  This baby is a momentum Stock, been trading it for a
couple years now.  Once it finds it direction it follows it.  You have
too many small players in this that are not ready for a long term
investment.  As long as institutionals getting their hands around this
and calm the volatility, this is a volatile b...

I like it though, wish i had the balls at 1.50 when I thought about
taking some, waited until 2.20.

You may still get your chance there is still a lot of fear of a deeper
recession/depression so the next time it drops add another position.
I see a real depression by 2011 in the US if the trade imbalance isn't
fixed.

The company is in China not the US. Did anyone listen to the earnings
call? ABAT will make batteries but continue to buy companies that use
batteries such as bike company they recently purchased. the short term
I like the company. Running a consumer product company is a lot
different that selling batteries to Manufactures. The CEO did not know
any specifics regarding the electric bike industry in China. Not sure
if the company going in the right direction
