I am waiting for 14.00 again hope it will go there before oct 30th
might have to pay up. iphone is going to be very expensive, will block
WIFI connect unless you buy phone version in hong kong, and I presume,
although there is over 1bill persons in china many are still very poor
and will not be purchasing iphones. this is a play for the rich right
now. Nat avg. income per month is under $200. Unicoms deal is 3 years
for starts with Apple. They have fierce competition soon against RIM,
Palm, and chinese 3g based smart phones from dominant carrier CHL in
the near future as they roll out their 3g. Anyone else care to discuss
this stock?

I agree with most of your facts, but I do have this to add.  With over
1 bill people in China, if just 1/2 a percent of them get an iphone
that's 5,000,000 iphones sold.  Do the math and work out how much they
will make in profits from the sale of the phone itself, then add to
that the add'l monthly revenue from people who switched to Unicom from
other carriers to get the iphone and you're looking at a massive bump
in revenue.  If it's 1% of people there who get the iphone, then
double that number!

i agree i think initially, hong kong is going to be the real market. I
need to look into the population there and i think their avg incomes
are the same as ours if not higher. i missed the 14.01 today oops.
Anyone else discussing CHU or looking into as a speculative play?  I
own AT&T and other than the dividend i have not been happy with its
performance. Moreover, exclusive iphone contract up next year and of
course nobody knows if Apple will lease out their phone to Tmobile and
or Sprint creating some serious competition for AT&T

look at car business over there
the state was making you pay a fortune just for a licence plate
guess what mercedes audi .. r saling like crazy oer there
china is not a broke country

aapl will max its profit with the trend around iphone
china is consumer number 1 for cell phone
they r the one that change cell phone the most often within a year
u won t buy it for 700$? chines will

it will become a sign of wealth to be able to afford an iphone
as much a black american express

and that point is the most important, exclusif and hard to get has
allways been the mac politic and campaign strategies
and always work, they r number to hire the most inovatif people so
tell me why china won t take it

who else they have to fear?

local sub brand, nokia, rimm, msft
they all had disappointing product and nothing new

i never saw an iphone or ipod user cursing its phone

but windows phone everyday

china is wealthy they r buying thing like iphone overvalued like
people buying bread in the us

trust me on china

u have a huge part of the population that have the monney and love to
spend
especially if it s a product coming from EU or USA they will worship
it like a symbol of a clan

Tom, you mis-read my quote.  I didn't say 1/2 the Chinese population
would buy.  I said that if just 1/2% of them buy it will be 5 mil i-
phones sold.  If 2% buy like you say, that will be 20 mil i-phones
sold, which would be an insane amount!  I'm not even sure if the US
has sold this many phones in the past year!  That's why it's fine if
the phone is super-expensive and only targets the rich.  They only
need 1 out of every 200 people to buy one in order to meet their sales
target!  Should be easy...

This stock has bounced from 14 to 14.50 several times, like
clockwork.  I bought this before the Apple deal was even announced, so
I feel confident in the long term.  It seems the price is steep for
the IPHONE, and if they don't get good results, I'm sure they'll make
adjustments.  Personally, I'm gonna sell this stock after it peaks
from the great Apple earnings results, and buy it back on the dip.
