Subject: $CPST 25% efficeincy at 120F?
$CPST 25% efficeincy at 120F?

This is good news for CPST use  in high temperatures today..

http://www.fuelcellenergy.com/files/HT%20Membrane%20fact%20sheet.pdf#..."temperature"

So...at 120F at around 104 days $FCEL operates at 50% efficeincy...and
it looks like Voltage it would drop off the chart..?
And at 120F at around 104 days $CPST operates at 25% efficiency....but
it will continue on for 2 years w/o maintenance...even then
maintenance is minor; then continues on forever.

CPST wins as a power solution at 120F!!!  Let the sands of Saudi
Arabia bake!

CPST looses as a power solution by 12% to FCEL at ambient
temperatures.   FCEL maintenance costs...  Does anybody know?

$FCEL.... DFC power plants are 47% efficient in the generation of
electrical power and up to 80% efficient overall in Combined Heat and
Power (CHP) applications when the byproduct heat is used.  Typical
fossil fuel-powered plants operate at about 35% electrical power
generation efficiency.

See Efficiency:

http://www.fuelcellenergy.com/benefits-fuel-cell-technology.php

This one is for TC
http://www.microturbine.com/_docs/C65%20&%20C65-ICHP%20NATGAS.pdf

the efficiency curve is shocking....but this seems to be all that
mankind can muster this day in time...pathetic.
Hydrogen is the real power solution but it is very..very...expensive
to produce and still in infancy stages compared to FCEL & CPST.

Cheers:)

TC did you know that FCEL is CPST major competitor?

CPST can be combined with Fuel Cells to increase efficiency further by
2015.

http://www.fuelcellenergy.com/files/Investors%20Business%20Daily%209-...

Another Bone for TC:  70% of energy is lost during electrical
transmission process!!  From power plant, over the power lines to the
destination; remaining 30% is for use.

check out this UTC presentation PureComfort vs. PureCell...choose for
yourself.

Does anyone know the costs for FCEL or maintenance costs?

Cheers..:)

Ouch look at the drop off in POWER at 80°F....Not good.  Saudi doesn't
have natural gas, just oil.  Not a good solution.

CPST  - Savings of a 30kw turbine..based on $ .11/kw utility charge is
$28,000/year savings x 9 = $252,000.

http://www.globalmicroturbine.com/Site/Microturbine/Entries/2007/12/2...

CPST runs 9 years until a major overhaul needed.
yearly filter change all that is needed.
So, If you were to hook up 8 C30s your savings after 9 years would be
$2,016,000.

Today, Bay Area PG&E bill charges $0.115 for electricity & $0.93 for
gas...:(

120F LOL.

Screw crappy wind power... California, Arizonia, Texas, Mexico, it is
CAPSTONE-AFTERBURNER DESERT-LIGHTSABER-TIME !

If Capstone calls the next version of turbine the CAPSTONE AFTERBURNER
or the CAPSTONE LIGHTSABER everyone would ***have*** to buy one.
