Nov. 22 (Bloomberg) -- KT Corp., South Korea’s largest phone and
Internet company, said it will begin offering Apple Inc.’s iPhones on
Nov. 28, becoming the first telecom to begin selling the iPhone
device in the country to be operated on a Wimax network.  Internet
orders
for the iPhone 3G/3GS in South Korea began on Nov 20.

Some will ask the significance of the S. Korea KT Corp WiMax and
iPhone 3G/3GS deal.  Few might not remember that in May of 2009
Sprint/Clearwire began testing a mobile handset that would utilize
WiMax
VoIP; that phone could be the iPhone 3G/3GS or maybe even the
upcoming
iPhone 4G.

VoIP services are available now and do not violate the AT&T/iPhone
exclusivity agreement.  Sprint 4G WiMax reaches 30M now and will grow
to 180M in 2010.  LTE is 3 or more yrs behind.
