I here you both on Chicago......I would add the the river warehouse
area re-vitalization and the best museum of natural history......I

I haven't studied TA extensively, it was just very unconvincing to me
right from the get-go; I have never heard any sound argument that can
show why TA improves the efficiency of the market (and thus make money
systematically).

Good observation.

I'm not a professional trader but I have a number of professional
acquaintances who are heavy managing big institutional sized numbers
and not one of them ever considers the discussion of technicals as
anything more than random patterns given meaning by people who don't
understand the market.

Let me reframe what I said earlier. Most of us in the market are
motivated by a desire to make money (iwhich is not always 'greed') and
fear of losing the money. Some of us try to be rational about our
choices. Many of us in the discussion group are especially ruled by
emotions and seek the company (companionship, if you will) of others.
