Where are all the BBI fanboys at?  You have been awfully quiet for a
while.

Not a hater or pumper, just an individual investor. My money is blind
to all that BS. I don't invest on emotion or wishful thinking. I don't
listen to anyone, I listen to everybody.
Netflix's dvd by mail will go down in history as a "one hit wonder"
I'm out, too many others that are going somewhere. Lots of
competition.
10 million subscribers big friking deal. Nobody has heard of netflix
still, out of the 8 billion people
worldwide. (Blockbuster is in 20 + countries) SIRI XM - paid radio
nobody has heard of & they have 20 million subs! Paid radio!
It's a drop in the bucket.
Reality, DD & common sense told me to get out.
Blockbuster is known by everyone & will always be known as the company
that helped Hollywood what it is today.
Everyone knows BLOCKBUSTER, & 7-Eleven too.
It's just a matter of what goes up must come down.
Oh also, Redbox (coinstar) is a converted soda machine that pissed of
the industry too.
Long live Amazon, Microsoft,Intel, Blockbuster, Siri, Mesa...
One more thing, did Blockbuster & VCI hook up & make a deal out in
arizona recently?...
I'm a machine opperator at VCI.
Do your homework folks.
Losing money sucks I imagine, waking up in the morning, turning on
your computer
to find out your investment went south.
But then again, if it were not for stupid/ignorant people, the world
wouldn't work.
It is what it is.

You are right, Netflix is pretty new and I think that its stock price
is mostly hype-induced. Everyone is wondering how far this company
will go and how well their business will do. I imagine that they will
gladly take their business global once they get enough capital for
such a movement.

The striking difference is that Blockbuster is based on going to the
store to pick up your movie. The only way they can beat Netflix is if
they are cheaper and offer the same perks as it. Streaming is also an
upcoming idea that Blockbuster has absolutely no channel for at all.
Netflix will soon be competing with cable movie companies as soon as
they offer more streaming content. They have the potential to threaten
HBO.

The switch to Netflix is more of a switch from HBO (which costs more)
to hassling your mailbox. It is slow, but streaming will take over
ultimately.
